He won 4 items for 9 cents and my shipping charge was thirteen dollars to Spain. He paid me $13.09 ( or close to, thereof) and I shipped all items in one box per his request.
Now, almost three months later, and after I'd contacted him a few times as to the status of the items since I hadn't received feedback, he writes and claims he hasn't gotten them. I apologized and asked him what to do. I reimbursed him fifteen bucks in pay pal ( a couple bucks over original charge) and he leaves me feedback that says I never sent the items and STOLE HIS MONEY.
Meanwhile, I am out ebay fees, pay pal fees, postage and handling, three US Medals and one State Token, plus now I got 4 negs to boot.( and all this for under 20 bucks or 5 per item)
My advice is to make lemonade out of the lemon. It serves no purpose to even think about it. As long as you know in your own heart and mind that you are fair and honest, you can keep your head high and sleep good at night.

I'm sorry that happened to you. On the Spain note, I look through World Coins on ebay now and then, and I often see sellers state that they will not ship there.
You know, another thing that has occurred to me is that it is amazing that some sellers, like a lot of people here, have feedback of over a thousand, some several thousand, and 100% positive. Now that's incredible.

It took me, like Conder101, over a year to find mine. Thanks to Jeremy (airplanenut). Mine's a 1921 MS65 Morgan. I've never, and I look daily, seen another until your auction featured on this thread.
I know I'd be a buyer, right now, at $450.00 and I'm sure others would outbid me with the proper word of mouth.
The problem now is to find another slab collector (We're rare too.) Mine was a Norfolk half dollar in MS-64. I do know where one more of them is. It also has a classic commemorative half in it (I don't know which because the coin isn't important to me so I don't pay too much attention to them.) but it is an $800 item.
Another reason why these are so hard to come by is that they will usually only be found on high end items. Like Braddick said these were only done for part of one day, so the only items that would have gotten into them were coins that the dealers thought were good enough to submit at the show for same day walkthrough service (Which isn't cheap.). And if they came back lower than what the dealers though they should be, and there was still a lot of room if they could get the upgrade, they would probably have been cracked again and resubmitted. Probably not at walkthrough but at a lower cost level. Even at walk through though it would not get the all bold font label again. And how many of them have not been cracked since then for upgrade attempts? It would not surprise me if there are only a couple hundred of these still in existance.
The real worry is that Cameron is right, all it would take to destroy these would be for NGC to start issuing more of the all bold font. And that is possible until they change the label, hologram or holder again. (One thing does bother me about these though. I can't account for the use of that hologram on these slabs. By my calendar of changes, that hologram did not appear until a month AFTER that show. Of course my calendar could easily be off.
Just read this post pharmer- I am glad it looks like it got straightened out for you, but remember the sting you felt and cover your backside in the future. By the way--nice coin you got there- if you get it back you might do well to post it on the BST forum, looks like a few here may want that one.
Thanks, John, and I have certainly learned. Jason's approach to avoid, as much as possible, running an approval service for such bidders makes sense, and I could still offer unconditional return. I have looked more closely at other member's listings, and this is not an uncommon practice, so we'll see, may incorporate it into my next listing group.

Pat, incidentaly, the coin you purchased and the coin Bill just sold were both consigned to me together at the end of March of this year... you could have bought two I remember both being high-end and very original pieces, hence the show grading made sense (but didn't work out, as the 66 was the obvious goal). Could these have been reholders, though?
Jeremy, I still own the 1921. It's a pure GEM but not a true MS66 IMHO. Neat coin. I wish I'd have checked your other auctions as I would love to have purchased two!
(I did check pharmer's feedback yesterday to see if he had purchased his via you but did not find eBay feedback from him to you or you to him so I figured it either wasn't your coin originally or was sold to someone else who then sold it to pharmer.)
I wish I could lay my hands on mine to see if it came from the same submission. (I gotta clean up around here.)
If they were reholders they would still have had to come from the same original submission (they don't change serial numbers on reholders) and have been submitted for reholdering at the show. And I doubt that coins submitted for reholdering would have been reholdered and returned at the show the same day. It's possible I guess but I don't have any experience there. Does anyone else know? Are simple reholders submitted at a show returned same day?
Just FYI, received two emails today from him, now ebay member mintstatemadness for those who wanted to block him, an action which we cannot either endorse or encourage or even say Happy Halloween!
