DaROOL!! (Morse, Lee III catalogs)
I returned home from a trip to the post office, mailing among other things another box of old catalogs to find a big box of new catalogs. The Heritage catalogs for Palm Beach auctions had arrived. This includes the sale of the Phillip Morse St. Gaudens collection ($10 and $20) in one catalog, which itself will be a valuable work on St. Gaudens coinage. The highlights are, well, the whole collection, which includes a 1907 Ultra High Relief $20 in PR69, "his and hers" 1927-D and 27-S $20s both in MS67, a 1933 $10 in 65, a grading set of 1921 $20 in 64, 65, and 66, and the signed letter from Theodore Roosevelt expressing his opposition to putting "In God We Trust" on coinage.
The next catalog in the stack is the rest of the "Platinum Night" auction, which contains the Jack Lee III set of silver dollars, including an 1896-S in MS69, 1895-O in 67, 95-S in 67DMPL, 1889-CC in 68, the Parmelee 1794 dollar in AU55, 1884 PR65 Trade dollar, some Wayne Miller Silver Dollar Textbook plate coins, and others. Many coins in these two catalogs are given more than one page, and the pictures of the high end coins are huge. Needless to say, these catalogs will not end up in a giveaway pile. There is a third catalog containing the "dregs," if you will, of Heritage's Palm Beach sale. I haven't gotten around to looking at it yet, though.
Don't hold your breath for me to give away the platinum night catalogs any time soon. Anyone that registers to bid at the auction venue should be able to pick up these catalogs gratis from Heritage while supplies last.

<< <i>Full coler, glossy, and HEAVY. I have no idea how Heritage does it, their annual printing and postage bill must be well into 7 figures. >>
It appears as though their buyers' fees for the Morse sale alone will be well into the 7 figures.

Maybe. The seller may be getting more than 100% of hammer.
<< <i>I don't think they are selling enough 1916 SLQs at Palm Beach Platinum Night. >>
It's supposed to be a RARE coin
I'm not saying that the coin is not worth having in your or my collection. Rather, I don't think it's difficult to find, irrespective of the mintage and pop reports.
