A challenge to coin photographers

Full slab images are the ultimate test of coin photography, they give us a true background color to judge the color of the coin against.
I'll take that one step further. Try imaging 3 or 4 slabs in any formation you choose that illuminate them in the most accurate way you can to the camera's eye. I'm curious to see what you come up with, this image took me hours to get right:

The winner so far in my eyes.... Very classy
Really well done.
Who's up for a PCGS/CU members only calendar? We could have a contest and decide on the best 12 centerfold shots! Imagine 12 months of mouth-watering, eye-popping shots like these!

Very good idea ! Year around torture.

Very nice image:
Nice composition, I love how the edges of the satin finish coin slabs cross the edge of the Bison. But most of all I appreciate the true color of this image. The copper coin looks true in color and also displays the satin finish. This is an accurate full slab image.

All, great pics. I haven't the patience to do such cool images, so I live vicariously through the Internet!

Yes! It's getting a little late in the year to start one for 2006, though. Who knows about how to get the printing done well, cheap, and quickly after we have winners?

Weiss ... thank you. I really like yours as well. Good mix of paper and plastic
TJ's is awesome ... all of the ones so far look really good. It would be great to do a calendar ... Chuck sure whipped up a great "first draft" cover (looks a lot closer to a final product than a first draft to me) ... maybe I'll try to another one this weekend depending on what isn't at the bank (or on a night next week).
Hope to see some more!!

Here's my step Back in Time...
And for the darksiders (not alot of slabs there, I imagine ) - again, daylight would improve the mirrors -

And as rich as you are,
it's much better by far,

Another DARKSIDE rendition..
These are much harder to do than they Look.

What I appreciate most about JZrarities' photo is the slabs have a random, natural "thrown about the table" look, resting at many different angles. Yet each coin is lit well enough to appreciate the detail. And the color of the ICG slabs is accurate. As stated by other posters this is harder to do than you first think. JZ did it with 7 coins, which is incredible. An awesome darkside example.
The original point of my post was the difficulty of lighting a group of encapsulated coins from a distance in any sort of realistic way. But I love the props and artistic thought that went into many of the posts. That adds an extra challenge to the photographer. I had a hard enough time trying to image 4 small cents slabs against a black background.
Well done guys. Maybe we should have collage contest/display here every year. I'm amazed by the talent on the forum these days.
Man! You guys are good! Real good!
There's almost a whole calender now.
I made a couple of off hand attempts and decided that I'm just not worthy.

The Henry was the first one I noticed!
