These Anacs holders are tiny-

I just received some coins from an auction and they're in Anacs holders. The holders measure 2"x2 3/4" I dont have that many Anacs holders, is this the new style or old style?

I do like them, I just dont have anything to store them in.

That's the way they come and it's a great grading service to date. I love the small size!

They're essentially the only style there ever has been. The new ones aren't due to be released until January as far as I know.

Personally, I hate the small slabs. However, after doing a poll, much to my surprise, a large number of members do indeed love the smaller sized slabs.

I love em. They fit perfectly in the blue plastic 2x2 boxes. The ones with the two dividers. Just lay them flat in the spaces, six per stack, 18 per box.

They did increase their slab size slightly several years ago, supposedly to improve airtightness. So, there IS a "Small small" slab and a "Larger small" slab too.

I like their tiny little slabs and am sad to see that they are going to be playing follow the leader and moving to a larger size.

Well since being sold I guess we'll be able to tell the pre-sale slabs in case they go the way of NTC or other 3rd tier graders.

How long will it be before:

1) The small slabs are "rare" in the market.

2) Opinions are tossed around about how "tight" the small holdered coins were graded.

It would be cool if they offered a choice: "New ANACS" -- big slabs or "ANACS Classic" -- small slabs. You could pick which one you wanted on you submission form. That would make everyone happy, I would think.

Hey Flaminio, are you planning to have your awesome set of ANACS commems reholdered if the the few remaining coins you need prove to be unobtainable in the small holders?

Dude. Wow, I hope not. I hadn't really thought about it. I think it will depend on how pretty/ugly the new holders are, and whether or not the old holders remain available. I'd prefer to stay in the small holders, but if pushed, I might have to go for the reholder.

Of course, if I did that I could have the set pedigree'd. That'd be pretty cool...

I used to love ANACS, stopped after they eliminated net grading of problem coins. Now they have no advantage for me as a company. The smaller slab is very nice, but of course they're going to change that too so,...

So? No one said they are getting rid of the smaller slab. If they are smart which I know James Taylor is I bet they will have both slabs in use. No Doom and gloom.....I say just wait and see.

I've always preferred the smaller ANACS size slabs. My least favorite...ICG.

If ANACS is smart they'll continue to offer the small slab as an option. That would make them unique as far as slabbing companies go-two different slabs based on preference.
