I hesitate to tip you off on this, but....

...as I'll be out of town when this closes, I'd like my brother-members to have a clean shot at this.

  • I think that's the first SGS coin that I've seen that wasn't in a MS70 or PR70 holder.image

    Obviously a mistake in grading...looks like a lock MS70 to me.image

  • OMG looks AU to me. The worst is it is already bid to $51.00 with 8 days to go!

I agree. On balance they are worse than the Savannah Scammer--many more people bilked for a LOT more money. Silver Eagle sets are their specialty; they've had to have made a small fortune.

The outrage about the Scammer is much more pronounced on the boards though, because nobody here is dumb enough to buy these slabs. Routine case of human nature--people looking after their own interests.

I wonder how much of an effect the recent ACG debacle (time and money spent) has had on people actively pursuing Legal action against these grading services ?

In affect this slabbing service is no different. They provide an opinion that doesn't stand up to currently understood standards.

  • Seems like the NCA could drop their heavy hammer on these guys. Any NCA members like to give on their thoughts on this?

It is only a 69, and it is a long way from 100, so I think the coin is graded correctly with their scale of 1 to 100.

This is in no way in support of ACG but ACG is PCGS compared to SGS. image

It's sad to think of all the effort spent on getting the "word" out on ACG and now there are so many of these new TPG'S that it is getting ridiculous. And each with their own grading standards. I believe in SGS's case, the eBAy seller is also the slabber. I also noticed an eBay auction for grading by Hucky (a new grading company in the making?).

That's ACC, he's been around for about a year and a half now.
  • "In this grade comparable grading companies (such as PCGS) list this coin for $2,400.00!!"
I'm no lawyer, but for a 10% contingency, I'll sue SGS for slander for you Mr. Hall!

this dirt bag seller is well known on the ebay community board as being the OWNER of SGS. owns it, grades them, sells them to the rubes on ebay, WITH NO mention that they own SGS. this sham has been running on ebay for a while.
