"You can now obtain PRF-69 and PRF-70 specimens of this non-monetary issue". Isn't this false advertising, I didn't know SEGS had a grade below 70. I've never seen one.
This buyer should stick with PCGS First Strike silver rounds.........er.........I mean silver eagles.

# 1 The buyer did not bother to read the part about how this "coin" was made by a PRIVATE MINT.
#2 Shame on SEGS. They have stooped to wallowing in the sewer for a few dollars. If they were goin to slab this thing, which they should not be doing IMO, instead of printing all of the gobbly-gook about "limited editions" they needed to use one word, "COPY" in bold print and one inch sized letters.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
"We've selected a small group of the very finest privately minted 1889 'CC' Morgan Pure Silver tribute proofs, and had them individually graded and slabbed by the Sovereign Entities Grading Service (SEGS). "
seems pretty obvious to me that it's not a real CC. Nothing wrong with the sellers auction - besides the fact they are slabbing silver rounds. The guy should have paid more attention to what he was doing. And then to Neg the guy and call him a crook? That's not right.
You might not be able to call the seller “a crook,” but he’s definitely slippery. The pictures were very small, and the word “COPY” which was on the reverse was hidden by the way he displayed the item.
No the seller is no angel, but the buyer was really stupid.
AND SEGS, well they have hit a new low.

Not only is the coin listed in the US coin section, it is listed in the Morgan dollar section!!!
The seller never says it is a copy "1889 Morgan CC Certified Silver Dollar {No Res}” is all that is said in the title.
Even the fine print is deceptive referring obliquely to "privately minted" and "non-monetary" is hardly stating that the coin is a replica. In fact one line simply states "The 1889 CC" Morgan Silver Dollar Proof you will receive will be PRF-69!!!"
This is fraud and the seller deserves the negative feedback.
The buyer did not show good judgment buying these coins, but it is possible that he has no idea what a real 1889 proof CC dollar would be worth. He may have simply thought that for $44 he could not go wrong on a nice looking 100+ year old US coin and that it must be real as it has been certified by a grading service.
This is the kind of seller that gives coin dealers, eBay and for that matter all merchants a bad name.
This guy makes us "wannabe" dealers look like angels.
There are lots of not too bright uninformed Ebay buyers, far too many for us to save from harm. I believe this seller is intentionally looking for this kind of buyer and I would like to see this stopped, but of course, that would mean Ebay would need to step in. I am not holding my hopes for this to happen.
Hopefully coin collecting has not lost a beginning collector because this person of unknown age has been burned.
SEGS has now reached the bottom of the barrel by encapsulating this junk and not boldly labeling it as COPY. I just checked my collection to see how many SEGS slabs I own and I was pleased to see I only own one, a Shield nickel MS62 worth about $100.
I collect Capped Bust series by variety in PCGS AU/MS grades.

No, I think that there is only ONE moron in this auction. The seller knows exactly what he's offering. Snake oil in a SEGS holder.

My brain is not working......MORON seller ......meant he is TOTALLY STUPID with regard to ethical standards. Obviously the seller is a charlatan.

<< <i>I think it is wrong for grading services to slab that kind of repros >>
I agree. This really hurts new collector's, who do not know there are repros out there.

Newb should have wondered why this seller had a basketful of these things for $44 each and there was no buying frenzy.
Seller offers 30 money back return policy; why the need for the neg?
