I have the coin "blahs"...how do I snap out of it?

I have a case of the coin "blahs", characterized by:
1. Acute onset of general lack of interest in coins.
2. Increasing interest in selling coins to fund other interests.
3. Lack of enthusiasm for updating my coin website.
4. Lack of imaginative ideas for threads here.
Any suggestions?

When I am broke, I usually get the blahs.
I am not flush, but I am not broke. I do not have the enthusiasm to purchase coins on the market that I would have been all over three months ago.
2) not a lot of stuff out there
3) hit the swimming pool, a little sun and fun--come back in sept.

Robert, as you walk, blind-folded, on the rice paper, ask yourself WHY your enthusiasm is lacking.
Perhaps the answer(s) will guide you regarding what to do (or not do) along your future path.

stop flooding page one!!!! GEEZ, ya know at some sites they have rules about that stuff and i've heard rumors that there have been squabbles that erupted into free-for-all's that have gotten people booted at different places. c'mon, man!!!!!!!!!
hey, take the obligatory off-period and don't post for awhile while trying not to do anything having to do with coins!!!! your kids and wife might be able to keep you busy. then come back refreshed.
I get the blahs occassionally as well. That's why I also collect Beanie Babies. They always put a smile on my face! Any they can be profitable as well as fun!

No, this is a hobby for me, not my living, but lately, it's beginning to feel a lot like work.
Hey, I've only bought 2 coins this year. That's the problem when only needing 2 more coins in a series. Maybe I'll break the dry spell in Baltimore next month.

i saw earlier things that worried me, like, "you buy everything you see".
anyway, if i was you, i would sell the coins and go have fun doing something else.
you learned a lot. matter of fact, your learning curve must be quite steep right now.
so much work, for such little reward, when you look at it like that.
i also feel, using the internet to search for coins will give one wrist damage
using the mouse too much. it does suck. it is probably why i just have my favorite
search at ebay, and that is that. i do not feel like going to several websites on a
semi regular basis... checking email.... too much like work.
so i kept it brain dead simple. i want to buy half eagles in pcgs holders.
pretty darn hard to make that into work.
your collection/website/knowledge must be the results of 1000 of hours of "work".
sure it is not work, because it was fun, but you are at the point now where it does
not come easy. thanks to the internet you learned 20 years of collecting in 3?
i am rambling, but i would just sell if i was "done".
it seems to me, you like having a broad knowledge base. time to learn something new!

Re: car. I have tried that in the past. They do not satisfy me. No matter how cool your car, everyone looks like a nerd with two children's car seats in the rear.
come on man, sell your coins. i want some of them.
Any reasonable offer will be considered.
Try some ancients or world coins. Since very few have the buy/sell/value pressures US coins have, that means you can really buy what you like. And...my personal favorite thing about them...NO SLABS. Yes, it's true--you can touch them, handle them, look at them closely with no foggy, scratched-up plastic in your way.
Don't get me wrong, I like my US coins and certainly they have a much greater chance of gaining in value, but I spend more time with my UK hammered gold.

Whoa, Nelly. Think that one over first, or soon you'll be considering some serious offers and you might go and do something you'll regret. Coins such as those should be sold only after some real meditation, IMO. And also, some of those offers might come from me, and, having burned out my lawnmower engine this afternoon like a complete dumbsh!t, I shouldn't be writing any more checks this summer...

Since they did not take any mediation to get into, they will not take any to get of.
I am not seriously looking to sell the collection, but I might thin the collection to roll the capital into another interest. The very best and most interesting will not be sold quickly or cheaply. You could say that none will come cheaply.

2) do not like, trust, and/or believe what I see
3) lose confidence in the hobby/business/industry
Collect something cheap and fun like a circulated dansco album of some type

I understand completely. I went through this with book collecting 30 years ago, and Japanese sword collecting 10 years ago. Books I slowly got back into--there *are* decent dealers--but I've pretty much given up on swords. "Here there be sharks...big time." I'm currently keeping a few of my very, very best swords and slowly selling the rest to fellow collectors via a friend's website and word-of-mouth. The sword dealers--95% of whom are treacherous crooks, no exaggeration--can go pound sand.
Coins have some real advantages compared to books and swords--slabbing removes the worst of the shady dealer advantage, and the availability of auction pricing data helps the prudent buyer avoid really stepping in it. After the shoals of book and sword collecting, I'm actually finding coins quite relaxing!
Anyway, take it easy, sit on the collection for a while before doing anything (it's a nice collection!) and try something different to blow the gunk out of your system. Perhaps a nice collection of cask strength single malt scotch....
