PayPal is a huge part of ebay, and many buyers look for it exclusively.
I wouldn't respond to the email at all.

I ain't having anyone get my coin, then get their money back too.
You buy from me, send a check or money order.

In my experience, if someone tells you that they WERE going to give you a lot of money but now they're not because of something you did or didn't do, weren't!
They just want something to B!%¢h about.

If you won't do business with me because of that, then you can buy or sell your coins to some else.
I right good checks, and I expect to receive the same. I've never written a bad check in my life and never will.
Personally I want to sell coins. I don't have an axe to grind. So I would reply something like the following:
Thank you for your interest in one of my auctions. I am considering signing up with PayPal. I hope you will look at my auctions again in the future.

That about sums it up.
In the boy-girl theory of sales, practiced by a lot of sellers....you want what you can't have(just like the pretty girl in high school)--so sellers say you can't have it and see if you charge full steam ahead--knowing that they have just told you --'you can't have it' or 'get the he$$ away from my table'. That is one technique some sellers use to qualify potential customers. It is strictly an amateur one and usually serves to clear the table at a bourse. One particulaly large seller who frequents this board has refined it so well that people complain vehemently on this forum. People complain that they are offended by this seller or that they have been run off by this seller. Not so in 99% of the cases. It is just how the seller does business, it's not personal.
With the 'I can't buy it unless you do X' theory of buying....there is always something or some condition that the buyer imposes on the seller. A real buyer looks for a way to buy, not a way not to buy. JMHO
He's just one of many(including myself at times) who gripes when he can't get his exact way.
I wouldn't dwell on it, he's probably just having a hard time with something at home.

Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
If you're selling you have every right to state the payment types you want to accept, PERIOD.
Looking for alot of crap.

I once had a lot of coins I didn't know anything about that got to a few hundred dollars, and I was emailed saying that the coins aren't worth more than a few dollars. I had some fun, given that there were multiple bidders who obviously didn't agree.
I've been known to send emails to sellers, but that's usually when they grossly overgrade, sell AT crap, or quote unrealistic prices
Thanks for your input. I guess your right.
I'm not really serious about selling.
I seem to stay quite busy just enjoying the hobby.
Hope you do as well.

Russ's response is too obviously condesending, while Weiss's reply has just the right mix of "I don't care" mixed in along with "You're an idiot".

Ah, but Relayer, you're looking at it from the point of view of somebody that has more than two brain cells to rub together. It's not so obvious to the average eBay bidiot.
