Is there a coin that you just don't care about the price & you'll buy it if it appears on the ma

For me it would have to be a 1792 Half Disme. I would be happy with a G04 or AG03 but buying it would be a huge stretch. How about you?

I ALWAYS care about the price. I'm not extremely wealthy.

I just bought a set of out-of-print books for way over the market price. I have been looking for them for about two years and finally found them. The dealer knew I wanted them and I was weak.....

But we were talking about coins, right?

Actually, there is a modern I've been chasing for 5 years that I just bought, and I suppose to many it would be obvious I didn't care about the price. image Fortunately, it was still affordable.

That's exactly what I mean! I'm talking about taking it to your financial max and then a little beyond that.

Yes, four. They won't be terrifically expensive when/if they do ever show up -- each is a scenario where the guides say I should be paying $75 and I'll pay $250 if I need to. They aren't widely coveted; they're just really really hard to find.

there are a few, but they arent really high dollar items either. guides would have me believe they should cost 100 bucks, but If I've got to, I'll go to four or five.

My icon coin, HK-1004. Four (or maybe three) minted, 2 known and both tied up in long-term collections. But if another should another turn up...

There are two specific coins from certain famous collections that I will buy regardless of price whenever they re-appear on the market.

In the meantime, I am scouring the auction sites and chewing on my pencil.

there is no coin i would bid until i was broke to own it.

the budget for such extreme purchases simply does not exist.

    This is great advice!

interesting fact! 70% of all U.S. GDP in the U.S. is in services. What this means to a non economic major is that people pay premiums for convenience.

At this time I would consider paying above retail prices for raw brilliant 1950, 1955, 1959 and 1961 Proof Frankies (provided that the coins are black and white, high grade CAM or DCAM coins that I can use to upgrade my Capital Holder Proof Frankie set). To a lesser extent I would do the same for some of the other hard to find CAMDCAM Proof and SMS coins from 1950-1970.

I owned my dream coin for 4 years and recently sold it to Dr Pete to raise cash. While I regret not finding out about my new job before the sale, after the recent good news I have had added to the fact that I owned my dream coin for 4 years and got a good price for it I can live with having sold it to someone that appreciates barber coins as much as I do.

And more importantly the rest of my collection is safe. I will not actively collect again untill I am confident of how the new job goes but I feel like I'm back in the hobby again.

How ;bout a half dime of the same year? I'm not in the bidding until a few relatives die, assuming I am not disinherited.
