Is the bi-metalic gold/platinum library of congress 10 dollar commem a popular piece? I think it is

I have an MS70 and a PR69DCAM that are in my permanent horde, both PCGS. I like them a lot. Erm, One of them is in this scan..

I honestly don't remember what I paid for them; the MS70 was around $2k when I bought it though, I believe. The PR69DCAM was considerably less, under $1k.

They sell for $3k? Wasn't issue price around $350? I wanted to get one back then but couldn't spare the cash. I'm such a retard sometimes

I've wanted one for a while; I passed up on the chance to pick up a proof 2 years ago, and
bought a Dahlonega mint $2 1/2. But I would love to add one to my set.

The bid / ask on the Proof is $500 / $540. I've got a raw one I bought from the mint. I don't think you need to spend $3 grand on the coin unless you need one in MS-70.

There is a pretty wild silver dollar that goes with it too.

I bought one of the Uncs when the mint issued them. Seemed to me they were about $350. I bought the proof a few years ago for about $500. Both are MS69. The mint had difficulty minting the coins due to the hardness of the platinum and the soft gold. They had to discard a lot of coins due to imperfections. Until the mint gets the problem solved I don't think we will see another combination coin in gold and platinum. The proof is a magnificent piece.

They were issued in Apr of 2000. The MS sold for $380, and the PR sold for $395.

I saw one on ebay Sunday night PCGS PR69 for $500 go unsold. It wasn't the first time. I wish I could afford one. It's a really unique coin.
