  • << <i>If you all remember the post I put up about a month ago in reference to paypal. Some members of the board
talked me into signing up for it.You all made some good points,so I did.Guess what, the very first time I let a
client use paypal,I got stung. Not by the client but by paypal. The client put the money in the account(paypal
sent me a e-mail saying it was there).Paypal aslo stated it would take 7 to 10 days to receive the money.Guess
what, the auction ended 4-8-05.I sent the client 5 or 6 e-mails and the same for paypal.Never heard from the client and never heard from paypal.
Never again. This is the very first time I ever got nailed

You can take your money straight from their credit card or bank(I think) if you issue an investigation. I did. someone tried to rip me off for $6000 and I took it right out of his own account--it took some time, but I got it.

Conder is correct. It's pretty obvious that neither the buyer or PayPal screwed up, but rather that silverandvinyl is simply confused.

That point has been made clearly to him from the start. Still wondering how the buyer is reacting to not receiving what he has paid for and owns.

<< <i>I did not say the money went into my account. What I said was "paypal sent me a e-mail saying the buyer has the money in his account".Then paypal listed the options for payment".I said send me a check to my home.Gave them all the required information. >>

What's obvious in this thread and your original thread asking about Paypal, is that you have no understanding of how Paypal works. I feel sorry for the buyer.

<< <i>BTW - If you file a dispute with your credit card company over a PayPal transaction, PayPal will close your account >>

Not true. I filed a claim with PayPal when I bought a $1,000 virtual item in a computer game and the seller gave it to me. PayPal said "sorry, virtual items are not protected under our policies" and the next day I got written notice that Visa had processed the chargeback. PayPal then sent me a form email saying that people should take advantage of PayPal's buyer protection policies rather than going through their credit card! I think it's hilarious, since I DID try to work withing PayPal's worthless "buyer protection" system and they screwed me, so I had to go to my credit card company for resolution. Two years after the successful credit card chargeback, I still have an active PayPal account.

Mintstate: I feel sorry for the buyer, too. It's unfortunate that there are people in America, like silverandvinyl, with absolutely no understanding of how to communicate, in written form, using the English language.

Sorta true. After a successful PayPal chargeback, they will seize any money in your PayPal account and if it's not enough, they'll create a negative balance (If the chargeback is for $2000 and I have $500 in the account, they'll seize that and leave me with a -$1500 balance). If you ever want to use PayPal again and add money back to your account, or try to pay for something using PayPal, the funds will go first toward your negative balance. Ultimately, PayPal will try and withdraw the money from the bank account that is linked to the PayPal account. However, you can go to your bank and present them with something in writing which says that under no circumstances are they to transmit any money to PayPal without your prior written consent. Or you could just close that bank account and open another one that PayPal doesn't have access to.
I heard they were making a French version of Medal of Honor. I wonder how many hotkeys it'll have for "surrender."
  • Used paypal since it came out. Never a problem.

S&V - you seem to have received a spoof e-mail, the buyer has never paid, and Paypal probably has no idea what all this is about.
