Hands down, no contest.........this is the most ignorant statement I've heard about collectable coins in my lifetime. >>
Hi there, here's a little tip. Awsome color happens to be what I look for on a coin. Believe it or not, many collectors do. It's what separates a super nice coin from a rare treasure. Everyone looks for different things in a coin or other collectible and to say this is "ignorant" is simply being ignorant.
I hate to bring up old threads, but isn't this the same guy that bought an AT Anacs morgan and tried to sell it raw, with a buy back enormous if graded by NGC or PCGS. Or is it just me dreaming?

No way! He has more than twice that invested in this coin!

Yes.
The coin in this auction sure looks a lot like one that sold raw on eBay for about $300 and change recently.

I actually thought the one in Anaconda's listing was the coin he had for sale a few months back for about $3,500, which was also holdered by PCGS. Now there are at least two of them out there!!
I dont see why people will pay that much money for a coin just because it is toned. It seems to me that toning is because of bad storage practices and/or not taking care of the coins. I dont see how this can give the coin more value if it just basically rusted so to speak. I mean it is pretty much the same thing as rusting eccept it is colorful. I think for a coin to truely get the MS grade it should not have any flaws at all. It should look just like it did when it came out of the mint when it was made. That is just my opinion. But if people like it I cant stop the.
WOW, so what y'all sayin'? Do you think for one moment if somebody came along and hit the BIN he would actually go through with the transaction and sell it for that much?

If I had a 5-figure-plus disposable income (which I don't), I would definitely buy that commem. It looks amazing! I like the second pic they show even better than the first. Was that taken in a different light or something?
"The PCGS price guide, which is usually on the high side, lists this coin in 66DCAM at only $20."

Well, here it is: Colorful Olympic Silver Dollar
It appears to be the same coin.

Would be interesting to get commentary from the person who bought the coin from CD!!

I hope he made an OBSCENE profit selling it to this dealer.

My WAG: around $1k. Nice, but not obscene. If it sells for $10k, that would be obscene.
Edit: Then again, who knows. Anaconda bid $2.5k on the wild-toned modern commem half, so maybe he paid that much (or more) for this one!!

It brought a little over $300. You can click one of the several links already posted in this thread if you want to see his auction.
