I'll say one thing, this coin sure has generated quite a bit of discussion and therefore, some advertising. I know some if not all feel the coin is priced outrageous but it only takes one to check out what else he's got and say, "now there's one I'd like to own..." I've said before and I'll say it again, Anaconda no doubt has some (actually a lot) of awsome coins if for nothing else but to view and enjoy. I have picked up a couple incredibly impressive color-toned early commem's from Brandon and am looking forward to another. Contrary to what some members "might" think, I am a customer of theirs, period. And I call 'em like I see 'em. Have fun!

1) That coin with those headless bodies freaks me out...like HP Lovecraft was the designer or something.
2) I love how AT has now transformed into "improper storage." WTF does that mean? Is proper storage for toned coins 80 years in a canvas bag in a moist government vault?
3) When CD sold this coin, it was raw, correct? So, just recently slabbed. And people say all submitters are treated equally.
Has anyone here actually read the description????????
We never would sell this coin at 10k. Geezz. People like K6AZ who don't know how the whole story thrive on this kind of stuff. It's a sweet coin that is beyond attractive in regards to color.
Here is the description for those of you who didn't decide to read it.:
This coin is definitely the most beautiful modern commemorative I've ever seen. It's got a target toned obverse of multiple concentric rainbows that was described to me as a beautiful rainbow surrounding the golden gates of heaven. The Deep Cameo effect can be seen in the lower image and it greatly accentuates the piece as it's twirled in the light. We are pricing this coin at $10,000 because it's hands down the nicest modern commemorative we've seen and we don't feel like selling it right away but feel free to make us an offer. It will be on display in our case at the Long Beach show along side all of our inventory between June 2nd and June 4th of 2005 so feel free to come inspect the coin in person if you wish. We will be at tables 861 and 760. Even if you aren't in the mood to purchase, just feel free to come by, say hi and enjoy some great coins.

<< <i>coinhusker, the piece that is subject of this thread has no equal. The blotch on the eagle's breast clearly establishes this. >>
Mr. 1874, Anaconda did have another one, and if I recall correctly it graded 69 DCAM (the toning was comparable, but there were little or no spots). Perhaps he sold it before he hired Brandon.

It's a requirement that any thread exceeding 50 posts have the word wannabe appear.

How about the (nicely toned) 1926 Oregan going for $69,000?
Ya just never know....

No, but is definitely market acceptable storage.

Yep it was raw and I paid $30.00 for it at a local coin show.
