Question: Most sought after colors?

dizzyfoxxdizzyfoxx Posts: 9,823 ✭✭✭
I'm curious if there are various colors that are more sought after than others when searching for color-toned coins, in particular early commem's. I know it is in the eye of the be-holder as to what colors are appealing to each individual, but are there certain colors or color combinations that are considered a "coup" when located? Also, are there any certain colors that simply do not exist on a NT vintage silver coin or early commem?

Thanks, dizzyfoxximage

It depends on the metal. With nickels, blue is very desirable. I personally like orange.

Personally, I like and look for reds and greens, in commems and morgans. The coins that Dick of greattoning has in the upper left of his listings look just right to me.

Burgundy, Ruby, and Deep Olive Green seem to bring very strong prices. They are also very attractive and rich.

I am no expert on commems, not by a long shot, but I do have one and only one in my collection. These are the colors that appeal to me.

    John,

That is one awesome Iowa. Those colors are extremely sought after especially with the obvious luster that coin exhibits. image
