Still waiting on my ANACS Economy submission after 90 days.

Just venting a bit. After my return from the 2005 FUN show I sent out economy submissions to PCGS, NGC and ANACS in late January. I got my PCGS coins back first, following closely thereafter by the NGC coins. That was about 45 days ago. I still haven't received my 10 ANACS coins which were signed for by them on Jan. 27, so we are now passing 90 days. Their 5 day express service is not much more expensive and I think thats what I'll be using in the future. I don't really need the coins back and in fact...its been so long...it will almost be like Christmas when I finally do get the coins, cause I've forgot half of what I sent them! Just seems like if they can't do better than that, they should just eliminate the economy grade; its just going to lead to bad feelings and ill will like mine, when people can't figure out why it takes them twice as long to get to their economy submissions as the other services.

    Maybe things will change now that ANACS has new owners, but historically you can take this advice to the bank.

    Never, Never use the ANACS economy service. It's slower than a snail and not worth the tiny savings (a few bucks per coin) you realize.

I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

    Absolutely. My last ANACS economy submission took over four months.

    And when you say it was your last economy sumission...I bet you mean it will be your LAST economy submission to them. Me too!

    Got that right! I will never send another lot to ANACS economy again. It's been two years since it took them over four months to turn the coins around. Bet you won't be sending any more in economy either.
  • great now this thread apeers just after I went & sent anacs a 10 coin economy submission. when they told me 4 to 6, I thought they ment weeks not months. lets hope they have improved this service. still i've had most of these coins for years now with out slabing them so if they're gone awhile it will be ok .
  • I prefer ICG economy service which averages about 30 days for me. They have 15 day service at a bit more cost but not worth the extra little bit unless somebody is waiting for it that needs it quickly.

    ANACS net grading turned me off some time ago. I have no need for ANACS when we have PCGS and NGC available.
    I collect Capped Bust series by variety in PCGS AU/MS grades.

    I like ANACS, but yes, their economy is economy. It is worth the extra few dollars to do the 5-day service. However, if you are doing moderns or modern errors, in my opinion, economy is the way to go with over a 50% savings at $7.00 per coin.

    My recent submissions have all been 5-day service and are for Morgan and Peace VAMs, so I want those back sooner. 5-day service works well for me.

    You sure they didn't mean 4-6 years? At least you know the certification business is alive and well.

    I was lucky as after I sent in an economy package I read a thread like this. Called Anacs the next day and upgraded to their 5 day service for $3 a coin more. Got my graded coins back in two weeks total. If I hadn't I would still be wating till June or July for them.

    JUST ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF THE BENEFITS OF THIS BOARD!! ( sorry I had to yell }

    The 5-day service is a deal. I've used it many times, and turnaround is very quick. You can almost set your watch by it -- factor in shipping to and from, and weekends, and voila -- your coins are back.

    Economy, as others have said, blows. The only good thing about it is that by the time your coins return, you'll have completely forgotten you even submitted them, and they'll feel like newps all over again.
