I would price it at $1100. That's $100 over greysheet ask.
Asking price 1350.00,
But I would not buy this coin at strong vf money just becuase the holder says its vf?

actual grade -> F15 (max!)
price -> $1050 - $1150 range

VF-20 would be a stretch. But looking at the coin overall and knowing that this date sometimes gets a fairly liberal grade, F-15 wouldn't surprise me at all.
if they graded it any higher than that, then they screwed up, plain & simple. but it DOES appear choice.

Dang, you guys are good - especially when you agree with me! I was 99% sure that I was sending it back, before I posted. Thanks for the confirmation. IMO, an Indian Head cent needs a stronger "LIBERTY" to qualify for a Very Fine grade.
Thanks,
Mike
This coin to me would be properly graded F-15

<< <i>Agreed. The entire bottom of the band containing liberty must be visible (even weakly) to be considered VF IMO. >>
That's certainly the Fly-In Club standard and the one used by Rick Snow and other IHC specialists.
I stick by F-12, but based on the overall detail I don't think F-15 is out of the question. It's a pitiful VF, IMO, but not surprising since it seems like '77s get a fair amount of liberal grading.
