Is it me, or just the usual "flea-bay" grading?...

Been looking for nice XF or even AU buffs for my Dansco album, but it seems as if everyone's view of XF does not match mine....am I being too strict? imageXF??
Bold XF???
XF/AU....WTF??

Well, raw coins on eBay are usually, shall we say, "optimistically" graded. Having said that, many branch mint Buffs weren't struck very well, so there's a natural tendency for sellers to want to adjust for that.

This is just typical "eBay grading." Most of these guys think Photograde is a TPG service.

I agree with the grading on eBay, but to me a couple of those didn't suffer from weak strike and still there isn't a full horn. Especially the bold XF one, hell, the horn is almost gone at the tip.image

The grading is not terribly out of line, in my opinion. It appears the '16 D and '18 S are "optimistically graded," about one grade too high. The notoriously weakly struck '25 S as XF? Seems to be in accordance with PCGS grading guide standards for these.

A human being is a part of the whole called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feeling as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.

The 16 D looks cleaned and I would say EF at best. Most items on eBay are overgraded by a point or two as a rule. AU is usually F-EF MS is always AU. I no longer buy from eBay. The coins are crappy and the deals are long gone.
