You've had a lot of good posts.

A lot of us cut back once in a while. It would be a shame to see you stop.

    imageLet my inspiration flow
    in token lines suggesting rhythm
    that will not forsake me
till my tale is told and done

    While the firelights aglow
strange shadows in the flames will grow
    till things we've never seen
    will seem familiar

    Shadows of a sailor forming
winds both foul and fair all swarm
down in Carlisle he loved a lady
    many years ago

    While the storyteller speaks
a door within the fire creaks
    suddenly flies open
and a girl is standing there

    Eyes alight with glowing hair
all that fancy paints as fair
she takes her fan and throws it
    in the lion's den

"Which of you to gain me, tell
will risk uncertain pains of Hell?
    I will not forgive you
if you will not take the chance"

The sailor gave at least a try
the soldier being much too wise
    strategy was his strength
    and not disaster

    The sailor coming out again
the lady fairly lept at him
    that's how it stands today
you decide if he was wise

    The storyteller makes no choice
soon you will not hear his voice
his job is to shed light
    and not to master

Since the end is never told
we pay the teller off in gold
in hopes he will come back
but he cannot be bought or sold

    Inspiration move me brightly
light the song with sense and color,
    hold away despair
More than this I will not ask
faced with mysteries dark and vast
statements just seem vain at last
some rise, some fall, some climb
    to get to Terrapin

    Counting stars by candlelight
all are dim but one is bright:
    the spiral light of Venus
    rising first and shining best,
    From the northwest corner
of a brand new crescent moon
    crickets and cicadas sing
    a rare and different tune

    Terrapin Station
in the shadow of the moon
    Terrapin Station
and I know we'll be there soon

    Terapin - I can't figure out
Terripin - if it's an end or the beginning
Terrapin - but the train's got its brakes on
and the whistle is screaming: TERRAPIN

    AT A SIDING

    While you were gone
    these spaces filled with darkness
    The obvious was hidden
    With nothing to believe in
the compass always points to Terrapin

The sullen wings of fortune beat like rain
You're back in Terrapin for good or ill again
    For good or ill againimage

It's better to burn out, then to fade away

If you crave attention you'll have to try and complete in the Open Forum where you'll find many with the same needs as you.

Maybe you can give xpipedreamer a run for the money, but At least he is honest about it

If it's not fun here, then why keep on lurking? Is lurking more fun than doing for you? If so then thats why this is no fun. It's you.

Personally, I've never understood lurking on an ongoing basis at a message board community. Sure, sometimes I need one specific answer and I google a link to a board discussing the topic I'm interested in, but I can't imagine reading something on an ongoing basis -- meaning the subject clearly interested me -- and NOT participating.

Will, I've liked your posts for the most part. I don't know if you we're asking anyone, but it stinks to see someone get bummed out enough about the forums to announce they are going to "fade away". If the forums have got you down just take a break for a while. Have a snickers bar image Get excited again about the how the forum adds to enjoyment of the hobby and come back when you feel like it.

Better luck next year Terrapins! (Yea, I know you are a deadhead not a Terps fan. I am a Terps fan though!)

Now I am going to go read about coins. Bye.

Well one thing's for sure, there ain't nothin' too high brow for the cesspool. While there's
a lot of nonsense and cheating on the open forum there are experts on just aboot every-
    thing from ornithology to astrology.

The first time I opened the forum it was quite accidental and the thread titles were astounding.
There seemed little reason to ever go back but then it became obvious there were a lot of dia-
monds among the coal and that even the worst of it was often hilarious.

Keep in mind though, that the same thing goes on there that goes on everywhere else. Whet-
her a thread is worth opening or not is dependent on the title and the author. Just because
it's a good author doesn't mean that any of his threads are worth opening nor does it mean
that those with vague titles are worth opening. There's not time for everything and we must
    pick and choose.

When you see people doing the backstroke in a cesspool, it can be bad form to suggest that
they are doing it poorly. image

The LEAST you could have done was post some "Guess the grade" threads.

Or maybe a "nice coin" or two.

    You just didn't TRY.
