We are all part of the same community. NGC allows PCGS Slabs in their registry sets. If NGC is cool with PCGS then it should be vice versa. Its ok to post NGC slabs here I think.
Kiefer did the right thing by removing the, what is seen as some as, offending material. By Kiefer doing this, he has respected his new employer's wishes to avoid the appearance of impropriety. Doesn't matter if really improper of not. What matters to the head honchos in a company is the perception of clients and potential clients.
There is nothing to be gained for Kiefer or ICG by leaving the link there in his sig line. So, Mr. Kiefer,

I agree that it wasn't appropriate to have a link to their website in his sig line even though I didn't see it. I am kind of surprised CU didn't say something, or maybe they did. Maybe they would have, but didn't see it.
If it was appropriate to put anything you want in your sig line, this forum would just become a place for advertisement. I could put a link to my company's website that has absolutely nothing to do with coins. We would see corporate logos everywhere. And if this is allowed, I would recommend that Dansco, Lighthouse, and any other supplier to post to as many threads as possible with an advertisement in their sig line. I think it would get squashed very quickly.
Posting grades from NGC / ANACS is entirely different. First, the people posting those grades do not work for NGC or ANACS. They are showing grades of their US COINS. Thisis not advertisement. Just like if I go out and buy a coin slabbed in a NGC holder as MS67 and it is the best coin on the market. I should be able to say, "Hey, ehre is my new purchase. Its in a NGC holder. Isn't she a beauty?" That is not advertising NGC, but rather mentioning their name. Just the same as we hear updates on ACG. That is also not advertising ACG. There is no personal gain by mentioning their (NGC, ANACS, ACG) names.

I've been studying ICG a little on ebay.Seems like they're moderns are all real high grades and sell for a very small premium,while they're older graded stuff sells similar to ANACS and smoetimes higher.
Cam, I applaud your effort to not raise any "waves" but Marty is not and has not been crowned King here, so keep the links if you want. I firmly believe that your efforts at ICG may hopefully lead them to raising the bar on their "respectability" in the TPG community. PCGS needs more competition as I see it anyway. They and NGC are the tops in the arena, HOWEVER, if either would have a problem with a silly sig line of a competitor in their forums, then I think it is a matter of "can't stand the heat of the kitchen"!!! ICG is no threat to the "Big 3" (PCGS,NGC, ANACS), but maybe someday they will be! Here's to FREE MARKET COMPETITION!!!!!!!!!
