  • Let me get this straight. Did you have these coins on a list priced out at $4200? You told him you paid $2780(why I don't understand), so he figures you make 40%+ on things. Did you tell him $3000 or did he just assume you were entitled to $3000? So from $2780 to $3000 he wants you to be less than a 10% dealer. You tell him $2100 and his coin, which means to him you're paying him $900 on the coin. If he was buying this $900 coin from you he'd expect to pay about $975. He figures your original price on the coins was $4200 so that means you'd want to price a $900 coin at $1350. Even if you were to get the full $1350 for the coin it puts him and you at $3450 on $4200 retail of coins. He wants to buy at slightly above your cost and trade you his stuff at your full retail price. This can't be what he was thinking, right?

I am not a dealer, or a wannabe dealer. You should have told him were to stick it when he handed you the
$100.00. It realy kills me when people, some of whitch are on these boards whine about the price
of things. If they can buy it on eday for cheaper, then go to eday.
Dealers gotta eat, they can`t sit down and eat some raw coins for supper. Just my humble two cents.image

I love it...I absolutely LOVE IT!!! I think it is just what was called for. No apologetic nonsense...wish we could get together, etc. etc. etc. Tell his just like it is. I think its perfect. If it was your first time dealing with the person, the name calling would be a problem. But with someone you've done business with before and know they're trying to treat you like their personal bank and 'gofer'....forget about it! Good job.

All make way for the mighty coinlieutenant! He has spoken!

Seriously, I love that you told this guy off (although it might not have made good business sense). He'll regret that he "cut you loose" once he figures out how difficult it is to find a dealer who will take his plethora of raw and net graded stuff.
