  Got 5 clad sets yesterday the fields on the coins are kinda starry and hazy IMO. not the bestus quality to showcase a premier method of manufacturing.

  I got rolls yesterday I like them, except that they have semi-prooflike surfaces... though, that's like most of out modern coinage, but I don't like it... makes the coins look dark...

  I agree. This year's proof set is really pretty exciting. The obverse of the Jefferson nickel is the most interesting obverse design we've seen in generations from the mint.

  I got mine yesterday as well. Lots of dust and dirt in and on the cases, and hazing on the coins. I too love the Buffalo Nickels, and I was liking the Kansas quarter reverse as well. I cracked the worse set open to place in my singles albums. I've lost my Jefferson Nickels album though. Looked everywhere, and forgot where I hid the darn thing.

  I think the new nickels are great. I received my set yesterday and wanted my wife to see them. After she looked at them she said " they really gave the Buffalo a big ding dong didn't they".

  2005 is certainly one of the better years for Proof set designs. The nickels are interesting, and the state quarters might be the five best collectively that the mint has issued for the series. I can't wait to see them in silver!

  Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

  I'm getting anxious waiting for my 2005 Proof ASE to arrive. Heck, I think all of the proof coins look good no matter what year it is.

  I collect the elements on the periodic table, and some coins. I have a complete Roosevelt set, and am putting together a set of coins from 1880.

  I received my sets the other day, and while I've been liking the buffalo nickel looking at pictures and my rolls I already have, I was really surprised by the Ocean In View nickel. Is the reverse of that baby sweet, or what? I think it is. I dig that coin. There is a lot of relief on that coin - not high relief - just a lot of the coin is reliefed, so there is much frost going on with that coin. I also like all the writing all around the edge of the coin near the rim. I must say, I think I'm liking this coin better than the buffalo coin. This whole 2005 set is one of the best in the State quarter program, imo. I love it.
