I am really worried about Russ!

MadMartyMadMarty Posts: 16,697 ✭✭✭
Russ's connect light has been off since he posted about his grades! I fear that maybe getting a MS64 was too much for him! That he stacked all those blue PCGS boxes up, tied a rope around the light fixture and ended it all! Boy, I hope he gave me his AH kennedys in his will! I'm going to miss him!!
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

I don't know about that, but the way he's carrying on in that thread may get him banned!
  • Marty, it almost seems like you and Russ are brothers - sibling rivals. image
  • Maybe, perish the thought, he had to attend to a computer client!!
  • Russ isn't the only one that should complain. This grading stuff is tight one week and loose the next. And, all for the registry thingy!image

Thats the reason huh? I don't agree. Why were they loose sometimes and not other times prior to any registrys? They graded millions of coins prior to the registry ever getting started. It is the nature of coin grading and NOT the registry.

I am worried, too. Russ has never been away from the boards this long. Did anyone check Sleepy Hollow?

Fear not, for Russ is the meanest SOB in the valley ... it's going to take more than some Newport Beach ignorance to put him off his game. If I were homerunhall, however, I would be disturbed by his growing preference for Florida plastic ...

I looked at sleepy hollow and didn't see anything. Maybe he's looking at some proof sets?
  • Cammy, if I'm not mistaken, you don't do much submitting. I had over $2100 in submission fees last year. Not much compared to others, but there none the less.

Coins that I had been submitting and getting PR69DCAM are now coming back with not even a CAM designation! Explain that if you will please!

I wonder how, or if, the graders rotate shifts? 3 graders work one week, and then rotate out. Another set of graders rotates in and picks up where they left off?

    This could explain something?

Tightening of the grading standards. It still may not have anything to do with the registry. You are mistaken. I do some submittting but not as much as you. $2,100 means nothing. Sending more into the grading service does not mean anything.

Sometimes work interferes with screwing around. Had to head out to wrestle a network problem. Like the Clueless Ones in Newport Beach could run me off with one shafting.

    Tightening of the grading standards.

Cammy, Cammy, Cammy! Are you telling me that a coin that was a PR69DCAM last year is now only a PR69???

I thought the idea of grading services was consistency! And, you would expect that from the #1 service would you not?

And, gee, now it's going to take more money and more coins to find out that they have this "Tightening of the grading standards."

Why would they do that anyway. Were they not grading properly last year??

I thought the computer biz was just for a tax right off due to all his scores with the moderns???

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

  • Russ,

Will you be re-submitting it ?

  • "And, gee, now it's going to take more money and more coins to find out that they have this "Tightening of the grading standards."

Its all the registry's fault. You submit $2K to them last year. You know.......... Give me a break.

You don't get my point. Of course a 69DCAM is not a 69. Please show me where DCAM designations are getting no designations now. We are talking a point or two of grading and not a 69DCAM now being a 69.

Yes, I want consistent grades but it will NEVER happen. Now please explain how the registry is completely the fault of different grading over time.

No. At MS66, (where it should have graded), it's only a $40 to $50 coin.

Have you been sleeping through the last few months? Ask Bubblehead; ask RGL. Either one can fill you in on the stupidity that's been happening with cameos and deep cameos.

  • So do you blame the registry sets for the grading changes like Ken does?
