I am a newbie and this is a DEADLY serious question! So please be honest with your opinions, and no joking, PLEASE????

what do you think? Are they worth it, or are you just paying for that last POINT to be macho, egotistical, or showing off the money! Is the difference from 69 to 70 just who you know at PCGS??????

How can I spot a raw 70???????????

Is it a crap shoot????

If i looked at 1000 proof sets, would I be able to spot the 70's? Is it worth my time even if I could?

PR 70s are perfect. It is hard to tell the difference between a PR 69 and a 70. Can you consistently tell the difference between a 68 and a 69? If so you might be able to pick out some 70s but you would need to use a 5x loupe.

I don't think so; I know a few pious women who have PR70DCAM coins in their collection.

I think the only way that *I* would be able to make a PR70, would be to submit a large amount of proofs...ones that I'd heavily inspected, making sure I wasn't caught off guard by any hairlines or the such. Coins that I would be positive would make 68 and 69, with the hope that one of them would get through to 70. I really don't believe anyone can "spot" a 70. It just happens as a result of the submission of lots of nice proof coins.

In a blind test, I don't think anyone alive could consistently pick out
the MS70/PR70 amongst a similar group of nine handpicked 69's.
