Just read the annual report. PCGS anticipates frading 1,241,000 coin in 2004. At that rate, the 20-millionth coin will be graded in about 8 years - 2012. Took 18 years for the first 10-mil.

What do you want to bet it will be a classic rarity.....image

Other interesting volume stats for 2004:

Autographs - 68,000
Stamps - 16,000
Gone but not forgotten: IGWT, Speedy, Bear, BigE, HokieFore, John Burns, Russ, TahoeDale, Dahlonega, Astrorat, Stewart Blay, Oldhoopster, Ricko, Big Moose, Cardinal, CoinsAreFun.

It probably growing exponentially. If it keeps that growth up they will consume all of the plastic in the world in a few years and grade every coin ever made.

The stamps grading division doesn't seem to be exactly setting the world on fire.

Yeah, PCGS will get to the coins before they leave mint and you'll be spending slabs by 2012. image
