The cleaned and retoned thing sounds about right to me too. Russ - Yes it's pretty heavily doubled, it also has a die centering mark on her neck below the ear.

Edited to add: The coins aren't mine...I ripped the pics off eBay to confirm my suspicions that something looked funny before I bid.
