your all talk and fruitlessly flash your little feedback profiles around (ours is self explanitory on each one)
you act like you are some kind of expert of at least something, when you're a dabbler in little....
yep, you are pretty darn transparent mr coin-cop, fake consumer advocate and distortioner of truth

Bwuhahahahahah! Reasonably intelligible? Considering the source, I am about to bust a rib I'm laughing so hard! If nothing else, you are a classic buffoon. Give it up poodle droppings, you are seriously outmatched here.

  • << <i>where is your means of a living derived from eric? coins? lets see your last year's tax return fella. post yours here, block everything out except name and taxable income, i'll post mine....

no shortcomings and no bragging. i've paid my dues, done it the right way,am proud of my coin business
and have a 502k tax return for last year. it wasnt from being all talk or an idiot or doing bad business.
and that's still peanuts, several friends of ours make easy 1-2mil+ a yr and are kicked back, doing it right.
BUT when a no dues paid avg collector wants to call our integrity into question or half-knowledged
makes false, unfounded negative allegations and insinuates things that are bunk i am going to say
something about it. eric is probably, in general a decent fella he just has some very bad grind at the world issue or issues....probably due to coin-dealing failures of his own causing that he'll harbor forever so he's bitter...but i'm not taking any crap from him as long as he acts like a little childish pudster like this. all i did was post to the 1957 guy's post, then Kzac, prozac, whatever, here he comes trying to start up a stink....

Hey Funderburke, you can keep coming back with your nonsense, but it will do you no good. A lot of people are surely watching this, and seeing what you are all about. By all means, carry on your defiant attitude here. I can assure you that I will be on you like stink on crap, especially keeping an eye out on the BST board. I will make it my business to advise potential trading partners here exactly how you do business, and it is not flattering. You're all washed up here Funderburke, I don't think anyone will make the same mistake a couple of other board members did by entering into a deal with you.
  • this forum, nor ebay and any of it's dealings add up to 5% of our annual gross...and i dont count on it...
you are in need of serious help with your approach to reality and your motives of ill will you have...

I have grown weary of your rhetoric. My apologies to EVERYBODY else in the very cordial southern states, that post should have been re-read and corrected by me before replying, it was not my intention to bash the entire populace of many great states, again, I apologize.

K6AZ - I by no means agree with everything that you post on these boards. But I do respect the fact that you are here on a daily basis and add your perspective to the ongoing discussions. I also owe you a bit of gratitude for typing the phrase "look what the cat dragged in" - because that one little phrase set off this "doop" person, and I will now avoid any business dealings with this outfit - I don't want to be "dooped"! I guess he doesn't want my "5%" type biz anyway.
  • everyone halfway in the know should know even though there are a lot of other dealers on here
who make most execs pay look like a day-labor paycheck, the majority dont know the coin "world"
as it operates and is conducted daily. ebay is NOT the coin business. it is a joke and there are a lot of reject ripoff dealers, ripoff avg joes with a scheming facade, etc. this pcgs forum is NOT what makes the
coin business or it's dealers either. it's a good venue for collectors to talk and share coin stuff while at the same times dozens if not hundreds exploit both ebay and this forum to you all for that wallet zone, and that zone alone. troublemaking, "acting" important on here is NOT going to get anyone anywhere. just enjoy coins, collecting, prudent investing and sharing of knowledge. all the ramblings of half-co*cked bitter folks that instigate trouble maliciously on purpose have no place here, in the dealer world or in the business/consumer advocacy in either direction

And what is up with the amount of someone's paycheck? Who here subscribes to the theory that the mo' money you make the smarter you are? First off, money is easy to make. Sometimes its too easy to make. I know lots of people that never worked a day in their life, never contributed anything of importance to this world and still have a lot of money.

    Take Doops example --

<< <i>bout 300-350+ to a mil+ with freedom and only actually "working" about 3 mos worth of hours a year >>

If someone thinks this is impressive, God help him. Go do something constructive with your life. Do something that others aspire to do. Sitting on one's A** making cash is rather neanderthal. But I suppose that if the almighty $ is what one values, be my guest and sit away. I deal with some very wealthy people in my business. I can count on 1 hand how many I actually respected and admired.

I admire intelligence. It's god given. You can't make yourself intelligent. You can't buy intelligence. And no matter how much you read and study you'll never be intelligent. You might be smart, but intelligence rules the day -- every day.

And when you lack intelligence, it is readily apparent to everyone that meets you. You can wear a hat to hide your bald spot and you can suck your stomach in when a beautiful woman walks by but there's no mask for stupidity.

you gotta luv the ambiguity that becomes instilled in an attorney...i have 3 in the family..it's different..
we call em 5%'ers. they cant ever fully commit...if......it wasnt them...
  • FrattLawFrattLaw Posts: 3,290 ✭✭
Doops -- when you can stop chasing money you can see what is really important in life. When money is no longer a factor in your life, life becomes much more rewarding and what you can do with your life becomes much more enriching.

If you never see that fact, that's how you live your life, and that's fine. It's a free country. Do as you will. Will I attack you for it -- no. The world certainly needs people like you. I didn't enter this thread so we could have some sort of battle. You and I have never had any dealings I have nothing against you. You admire money and those with it.

You stated your opinion and I'm stating mine. Many people read these threads and my point is that money isn't impressive, people with money aren't impressive those that brag about how much they make are even less impressive.

Where's the ambiguity in that? And it certainly takes more than a 5% committment to make it through the four years of college, three years of law school and the Bar Exam it requires to become an attorney. Obviously, if you are calling them "5%'ers" I highly doubt if you have ever actually met an attorney, no less have 3 as members of your family tree.

Doop just happens to be from Mississippi. Judging from your statement does everyone from that state need to be insulted by your corse remark about your Zipper or do some other southern states also fit that category? This insult comes from someone who lives in the state which gave us Charles Manson and numerous other individuals of ill renown. There are bad people living everywhere. Including California. As far as Im concerned, you are as backward as Doop is.

    BACK ON TOPIC

    100Proof,
I just bought some coins from this dealer. If all goes well I'll let you know. Seemingly so far, he's honest in description, and is willing to deal. But as in all things we'll see what happens.
    Prost!

That is right as far as I know 100 proof...

I personally would stay away from all the modern dealers on ebay and here. That includes doop, aka doops, aka pepperdoodles, jwcameo, ultimatecameo(R&I coins), wondercoin (board member), FRSDAR....

The only persons that I would trust to buy moderns are lucybop, Russ, and cladking... and that was only if I were buying moderns, which I dont.

Let me tell you a little story about my dad's experience with the #1 modern cameo dealer in the business, R&I coins.

He spent about 4500$ to build a registry set of cameo franklins with R&I which I will refer to from here on out as RT..

Built the set behind my back all except the 1950 which in Cameo is a fairly tough coin. Then he asked me to go in with him 50/50 on the 1950. I reluctanly aquiesced since it was a key date and I thought it would be exciting to finish a set. (OBTW, the 1950 came from pepperdoodles. I wanted to return the coin becuase it had black flecks all over BF's face but my dad was so excited he beat me down into keeping it.)

Anyway, the set was complete, my dad got tired of it and when it came time to sell I contacted RT. 2 phone calls and 2 emails. NO RESPONSE. Check out a coin world trends book and look at the ad that RT has in there. The strongest buyer of Franklins there is!!! Contact us!!! 2 phone calls and 2 emails... nothing. What a bunch of bs...

So I put two of the coins... the 1950 NGC PF65 CAM and the 1957 PF 69* on ebay... lost money but I really didnt care. Put some more on there... guess who was there to rip the coins for cheap and throw a huge markup on them... RT baby... ultimate cameo....

Also offered all these coins beforehand to wondercoin....good ole mitch... didnt even want to look at them...These were all very nice coins save the 1950, which I thought was marginal. Bright white cameos with no haze. These are the same coins that they were hyping 18 months before...telling people that it was the best thing to buy...lots of upside...

To keep this objective, I didnt offer them to doops, couldnt find him frankly because he was "off" the boards... but if you want to make it right, (Jeff isnt it?) there is still franklins left to be bought, including a 1951 PF64 UC... lets see how far that goes.......

Bottom line is that the modern market that these guys are making is just that... made... Supply has run out in Arizona and some of the major suppliers of these raw early modern proof sets and these dealers DO NOT WANT TO BUY BACK. The mark of a good honest dealer is how well they support their market. I have yet to see these guys do it.

All I can say is beware...
  • just sent a Frankie back to RT for an exchange, lets see how this works out !
all im trying to do is put together a 1957 Proof set for the registry and my own enjoyment !

    Just be careful...

Ask him what he would buy the coin back at and get it in writing...

My god people, is it really necessary to bicker like children? If you have a problem with someone, deal with them directly and privately. If that doesn't work then maybe a post is in order but this constant back and forth school yard shenanigans are really immature. I will probably now get attacked but I had to say it.

Unfortunately, in the case of doops, aka Jeff Funderburke, it is. In this case, another seller of modern proofs was discussed, and he decided to crash the thread and trash the seller mentioned in an attempt to pump himself up. This guy has screwed over several board members, and is one to be avoided. I'll take the heat if it means people will be cautious in dealing with him.

By the way, I am in the south as well, and Funderburke gives southern numismatists a bad name.

Very interesting John........ I would also like to add that just because one post to these boards doesn't mean that he/she is totally honest, or fair when it comes to selling coins..... Mattter of fact from some of the post I've read on these boards I would say there are several disingenuous folks here.image
