Hopefully PCGS won't put it in a sac.

Looks cool, but I wouldn't hold my breath for it to be slabbed...

You might as well stick it in a flip with a label that has the coin number and AT written on it. Homemade bodybags are $12 less than the one you'd get at PCGS.

    Thanks Placid.image
I know it doesn't matter to PCGS, but this is a end roller. I bought 8 rolls that were in the orginal paper wrappers. This is the best toner of a group of six.
Russ....I would love to make a wager that this coin will get holdered by PCGS(on the 1st try).

The colors don't all have that neon glow like some coins and seems to have some depth not see thru.
I think it will slab at pcgs, first try or fifth who knows.

You're putting one up? I'm putting one up? Which is it, and what's the other end of the bet?

BTW, the coin might very well be natural, I just don't think PCGS will grade it.

NT to me -- not terribly attractive but NT none-the-less and I'll bet it gets slabbed on the 1st go. I think the fingerprint confirms NT status.

    That's not a fingerprint, it's a toning break.

It is a bet. We both put up a PCGS PR66 AH Kennedy. If it bags I pay up, if it holders you pay up.image

Russ- It looks good to me from what I can tell from the scan. How about a friendly wager of $100 to keep this interesting?

Question..... I've heard this theory before and sometimes it can help. This could have been pulled from a roll and be NT. But just because it's pulled from a roll, or what others say from mint sets, cello etc, it don't really mean it's lock NT.

Now the FP theory..... you don't think someone good could put a FP in with some AT? Just like some AT coins that all the diagnostics look good. There are guys out there that just look for upgrades to enhance a bit of a problem area. Think about it.

Didn't a member post a beautifully toned SAE with a fingerprints on the reverse that was slabbed AT a few days ago? Almost any diagnostic of NT can be copied on an AT coin. I think it all depends on the overall look and not any particular diagnostic. This one looks natural but will it slab as such? I'll wait and see...

I'm sure there are AT'ers or "Coin Doctors" that put a nice little finger print on the untoned coin just before attemping to Tone it, So I wouldn't use the "it has a finger print so it's NT" example. JMHO.

It's a bet then. I will post the invoice number and piggyback it in with my next modern submission. I will send it off next week.

You're a 100% correct, but when taken in context of the story provided by fivecents, I think its a lock NT coin. Whether PCGS bags it -- who knows. And Stman -- we are talking about a Kennedy half here, not a beautiful Bust Half.

Why would someone add a FP to try to fool anyone in this case?

Ask tonecoin2003. If he thought it would "fool" more people into thinking it was NT on this coin. (test it out on a cheep'y) then try it on the

Well, a while back I decided to trim down to 50 and have been selling off coins as new ones are graded, starting at the bottom and working up. The one PR66 I have left is a very nice example that looks like a PR68. If you win the bet, you'll look at it and wonder if the graders were stoned when it came in.
