BL, perhaps you misunderstood me about the images. My point was mainly folks (including you) were saying the reverse was 62 and lackluster or whatever. My point was I felt the coin was better and maybe if a person REALLY wanted the coin they should bid accordingly and make sure they win.

I'm sorry if you misunderstood my post and I only tried to help which I even took some time to download the image, put it in an image editor, do a quick fix (auto levels,) merge the image together and upload it to my web space then post it for you. Sorry I tried to help and it won't happen again.image

St Man, I ABSOLUTLY meant no offense, I was only pointing out why I chose to bid on the coin, I might have misunderstood what you meant but I appreciate the side by side pics and did not mean to offend.

Tried pming the winner, guess he's gone to bed.

Hopefully he'll get back to me before I leave tommorrow so I know his address & preference between the coin & the money.

I emailed him to get in touch with you. I have to admit, his description was the best by far. Thanks for the contest !

    Interesting!

I tried to convince myself that Cratylus got it right!

I just can't convince myself based solely on the pics!!!

It would be interesting to see the coin in person!!

I am honored to have won the prize! Thank you, barberlover. Barbers (especially the Halves) are my absolute passion in this hobby. I've seen and studied enough of them in person and in pictures/scans (both good quality and bad) that I'm fairly confident that my thoughts on the reverse are probably pretty close to what the coin looks like in person.

    Thank you again...

As I said, there was no right or wrong answer to this thread/contest> It was mainly done for the fun & enjoyment I have in barber coins, especially the halves. I go with my gut on coins over the net and I thought Cratylus did the best job of saying why he felt the way he did on both sides of the coin.

I know "going with your gut" for liking a coin may not be logical but it nis what inspired me to do this thread in the first place.

By the way, Cratylus and I have been in touch and he has chosen the coin, I guess when he gets it he can describe what he thinks of my eye for coins. If he doesn't think its nice [since I say it is] he can let every one here know it.
