Here's a pretty Morgan

I was just going over some raw Morgans that were sent to me by a fellow board member. I really like this type of toning, it tells that the coin is very original. Not worth much of a premium these days, but when I can find coins like this compared to plain vanilla white coins, I will always pick the coin like this.

nice cheek and satiny luster, looks to be a step away from semi-pl.

I also like this type of toning....took me a little time to develop the appreciation though.

I think this kind of toning grows on someone after time. And you are correct, the obverse has no reflectivity but the reverse does. I think this is a sure fire 64, mainly because of the one hit on the cheek to the left of the ear, which is dead smack in the focal area.

This is one of the few toning types I like...

Eric: I am in total agreement with you on preference for the original light brown toned look.

I have found a lot of coins with this look in the older "keyless" NGC slabs, which seem to promote this type of brown rim toning including this 1883-S:

I absolutely love toning like that.

    That's a good image too.

I like that kind of toning too. One of the Morgan's I bought this afternoon has some toning like that.

Thanks, I have been able to do real well with raw coins.

Here is a coin I received today as a gift, I really like the colors on this one as well.
