<< <i>Um, your saying I lied about the coin on the darkside? What coin? Are you saying that I never had the soverign in the first place? >>

You know what I am saying, I am saying you posted a thread saying it came back from ANACS as NET VF-35 and later posted that it came back NET AU-58. I have no idea if you ever owned this coin or not, I don't care if you have ever owned it or not. I DO KNOW you lied and that is what my opinion is based on!

If you now wish to be trusted the ball is in your court, cough up some proof. Take a pic of the coin in the friggin bubble wrap and post that for goodness sake!

    Step 1. Google

    Step 2. Image Search

    Step 3. enter "bubble wrap"

Step 4. Cut and paste to CU.

    nolimitz,

You can tell from that image that the slab is cracked? Where?

    Russ, NCNE

Some were saying he didn't even own the coin. I care less but this is a bit harsh.

The crack is on the far right side. My dad will take a picker later, a better one as he knows how to use it.

I see what looks like it might be a crack to the right of the ANACS monogram.

I'm holding an ANACS slab at an angle under the light right now, and it shows a warp of the reflection that looks very similar. I'll await a clearer image.

Haha, yeah, I used my "high tech knowledge" to warp the image magically and make it appear to look cracked! image .. What are you going to expect next?

There's nothing high tech about lighting reflection caused by angle.

Send it along. You should also send an obverse image since there is some discrepency in your claims about the grade.

The slab is clearly cracked. Let me be the first to apologize for doubting you on this issue.

Cool. Since ANACS has authenticated and net graded the coin, may I suggest you just crack it out and put it in an Air-Tite or slab it yourself in one of those Coin World slab type coin holder using the ANACS insert.

    I'm sorry too.

If I were you I'd crack it the rest of the way out and enjoy it raw.

I've got a 1967 sovereign and it's in a flip. I'd show you a pic but the coin is at the bank.

No problem. I'm sorry I had to do all this just to prove a point image .

I'm going to save up and perhaps buy a GOOD digital camera. My dad took that last picture and though, it is better than mine. The picture sucks. I might just buy a really good digital camera that takes good pictures. I'm disappointed some of my friends doubted me here, as I had trust in them. Like Aethelred, and Baley. I thought people would believe me without proof. I was thinking about cracking it, and I've reviewed the methods, but my parents will not let me and I don't want to risk damaging it. It's a hefty cost at $18 to get a new holder, but that's life. Thank you all for your suggestions, and in the future, if this happens again on a cheaper coin, I will take it under consideration.

It's alright. I can understand that you would be suspicious because before, I said I got the 1913 soverign graded VF by ANACS. If I wouldn't said that, it would've suppressed alot of doubt. I didn't lie this time, and probably won't ever again after that ... image

I guess the moral of the story here is, if your going to take your slabs out to show them off, carry them in your slab caddy!!! Not a paid endorsement, by the way!
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

I'm with Lucy.....You are all a bunch of Big Bullies!!!! An apology will not suffice in this instance! All who doubted and ridiculed should send the lad a prized coin from their collection. (Hammered English comes to mind!) Russ should donate a "Slab Caddy" as a gesture that he is not a cheap as everyone makes him out to be!image
