Which one of you is carrying?

I keep a worn out 23 Peace Dollar in my back pocket at all times. I'll take it out and flip it and hold it and wonder if Al Capone had it, where its been, etc. Occaisionally I carry an 1880 Morgan too, cause it's 100 years older than I am. Gets the mind going about all kinds of different stuff, from history to mortality, politics to economics.

Do you Guys carry something around?

Does that pretty girl Lucy keep an almost smooth franklin in the glovebox of one of her sweet sweet rides?
Does the lovesindians guy keep an old Bronze cent in his walled?

I'm curious. Do you carry, and why do you carry what you do?

I know how ya feel CAM, the peace dollar I carry came out of a junk silver bag. If it gets lost, no harm no foul.

Thats the kind of stuff that got me into the hobby! Whenever I see an old coin of almost any type, I often think to myself how it was used and spent in its day. Good stuff!

I do carry a coin..sort of... I have a key chain with a 1859 worn out Indian Head Cent!

Back in its day, it probably would buy you dinner!

I've been carrying a gaming token just to see how it wears. It's been there for like 3 months and it's all scratched up , but not much wear. i may trade it in for a cleaned AU 1880S Morgan I have.

1891-0 Morgan getting shinier and more worn by the minute. As it fades into oblivion it really takes on a shine that glows in the dark. Try it.

1902-O Morgan. The one that started the whole thing for me when I found it in my Grandfather's dresser drawer.

I carry a very worn ( no date visable) Matron Head Large Cent, scratched, with a touch of verdigris, a real beater, but my father found it in a desk drawer in Germany in his HQ while WW -2 was still raging. He also found an 1852-O Half Dime in near mint condition. (That will eventually go to NCS for conservation, and we'll see what their sister company, NGC, thinks of it).

I carry a 1945 Walking Liberty Half. I was walking to school in the 9th grade in 1990 and it was garbage day. One of the cans on the street had been knocked over and the trash was on the curb. As I walked by I saw the 45 WLH and picked it up. T'was my first coin of any importance and it started me on collecting coins. I lost it in a poker game a couple years later to a friend but won it back from him a few weeks from that lol. I've had it in my pocket ever since...totally worn, you can hardly even make out the date anymore but I love having that big chunk of silver with me.

Nice show-n'-tell pieces. I've hooked many unsuspecting individuals on collecting with these.

Most people aren't even aware that gold coins circulated.

I carry a 2002, 2003, or 2004 SAE in an intercept shield.
Sometimes I carry a 1885-S morgan in an airtite.

I carry them for fun or for good luck when I go gambling. Most people haven't seen either one anywhere else before.

Funny thing was that I ended up sellin a 2003 SAE for $10 or so while gambling one night. Older Filipina gal liked it and wanted it, so I sold it to her right before I left.

I just started carrying another "lucky piece"

I don't hardly go anyplace. heheh - but when I do, I carry a silver round with the Lord's Prayer on it. We also keep lots of crystals around, and other semi-precious gemstones for luck, etc. - and of course our weapons of choice and pepper spray. I also generally have 'rolls' of coins in process of going to or fro bank for exchange. I like to carry a tape recorder on long trips - it helps the time pass and you can always turn it on in an emergency.

For the past ten years, sometimes a Peace dollar, sometimes a Morgan. When I'm impressed by good service at a restaurant, I leave it as a tip and get another from the bag.

Have a carry permit. But if I felt compelled to carry every day, I'd move to a safer location.

I always tell myself that I'm going to, because it would be interesting to see how it wears, or just as a good luck piece. I probably never will, though, because I can't stand carrying any more around with me than I absolutely have to!

Don't carry any pocket pieces now, but am considering. I would want it to be something intresting (100+ years old) so if I show it to others, they would find it prety interesting.

that happens quite often. I'm usually flipping and catching it or something, and invariably someone eventually wants to see it. It sparks conversation and I've turned a few people into collectors.

I usually have some extra "holey" coins on my keychain. That's where the duplicates from my Holey Coin Vest end up, or the ones that don't make it on the vest for some other reason (i.e. post-1900 coins- I only use early-date stuff on the vest).

I then give these "keychain coins" to folks at shows who express an interest in the vest, or to kids or noncollectors, for their own keychains, or whatever.

I don't as a general rule carry loose pocket pieces because I would lose them or they would end up in the washing machine.

I carry a 1945s WLH (out of my stock)and a 1967 Kennedy Half (won at the Sahara in Vegas playing blackjack)......I bought a Swank dollar flipper (1896 Morgan) keychain and am torn between selling it or using it...

I carry a 1921 Morgan. I used to carry an apache tear but stopped when it started getting scratched up.
