  My Rem 870 3 1/2" Mag loaded with 00 Buck That and you would need a forklift to steal the collection.

  So what is the best way to insure a collection that normally sits in a bank vault?

  I've got my .40 pistol, .357 mag revolver and my shotgun with 00buck as primary insurance. If those (or any of my other guns) should fail my homeowners insurance kicks in. I just tell them how much my collection is worth and they adjust my rates accordingly.

  I don't have anything above what would be covered under my homeowner's policy, no riders, no ANA. My collection is dynamic and frequently changes. I do have a SDB for the best stuff tho.

  Seems unnecessary with a safe deposit box. I self insure the little stuff I have at home.

  I was going to, but now that I've sold off almost all my bigger dollar coins it isn't worth worrying about.

  Insurance is always a bad idea unless the consequences of not having it are too much to bear.
  Most people have homeowners because if they lost their house they couldn't survive.
  
  If the insurance company is making money then they are charging you more than the service is worth.
  
  If I lost my collection I would be upset but there would still be food on the table.

  My agent says that our homeowners covers up to $2500 with little or no questions asked. My collection is pretty pedestrian so I think I'm ok.

  I have a chiuhuahua that is feisty. Sure he looks harmless, but for some reason he goes straight for the groin and never misses. That is all the insurance I need!
