Grade a Merc

If some might indulge me one more time for awhile [I think I've used my quota of grading this week]
would you pleae give me some input on this merc.
To me,I would say it has obviously lost its mint luster - But the details are about as strong as I've seen
in Mercs.
Seems to me the feathers in the hair, the hair itself, the outer rim on the obverse - And on the reverse, the
outer rim,the wooden planks and especially the bands around it are all prone to wear.
This example seems nearly completely free from that typical wear.
So might this not get a grade just short of MS ? ?imageimage

Yep, a nice Very Fine, maybe maybe EF40 but not any higher.

Thanks much for the opinions Baley and all.
So does it then exibit signs of wear which would disqualify it from a higher grade,or is it
the general lack of luster and 'used look' ?
    According to "Photograde" :
' AU-50 - Obverseimagenly a trace of wear will be visible on the hair braid and at the connection of the
    wing to the head.
Reverseimagenly a trace of wear will appear in the center of the diagonal bands. The center horizontal
bands will show only a trace of wear.'
I can see a trace of wear in the obverse, and none at all in the reverse.
My problem is probably that I have nothing to really compare it to,having never seen a Merc gem.

To me it looks vf35. There is too much wear for the coin to go any higher, and I may be a bit on the high side.
