kinda a shame that purple color does not happen naturally as I kinda like the color.

Hi,

I would assume that is artificially toned? Why do that? Nice old coin now really for all intents
ruined although I am sure there is a market for such pieces.

Depends on whether it was blow torched, chemically induced, etc. But I know you can sometimes get AT off a coin. Russ presented an example some time ago that he dipped (I think) and the results looked pretty good.
