Family, kids, coins, sports (playing not watching), jet skiing, wakeboarding, Big Air....no one ever got hurt in the air....its the sudden stop that hurts. I hate Hurricane Sandy. I hate FEMA and i hate the blasted insurance companies.

I have one and bought it off ebay for around $100.00. The LCD screen is almost impossible to see in sunlight. For the used price it's good for coin photo's.

Some examples done with the RDC-4300:
I picked up a backup (RDC-4200) a while back for $56. Dirt cheap way to do your coins.
BUT, the others are correct. The camera pretty much sucks for any other kind of photography.

you do take some good photos, and yes, the cam is only for coins.....................I couldnt see buying another digital cam for big dollars when it got one purpose....
Whats the specifics with your camera setup. How much light, distance, etc. thanks,
tom
Russ is responsible for many of us going with the bargain basement Ricoh and finding it to be a veritable jewel!! the only impediment is the smaller cards, mine uses 8 mb and gives me 12 pictures. when i bought it on eBay it didn't have the download cord or the software which means i had to get a card-reader and need to keep going back and forth from camera to PC, a minor inconvenience for the quality and price. the ease of use is, well, easy!! here are a few examples of my ineptitude.

Tom,
That really varies from coin to coin. Toners are shot differently than cameo proofs. Copper differently than toners. Brilliant business strikes differently than coppers, etc. I use from one to three lights, different wattages and different angles and distances.
I just move those around until the image looks correct in the viewfinder. I'm pretty bad at editing, so I try to get the closest accuracy possible with the camera itself.

I am sure I can replicate your setup in my office, and I will keep trying until the pics come out good.
THanks for your help.
So my cam doesnt do voice, does it do video???? like the little 10 to 30 second ones???? I know nothing about the cam except the basics.
I will google search it and see what i come up with.
Thanks again and Happy Holidays.
