Here we go again.
Only this time it's a MINT STATE 1936 set that looks so much like a proof set that the bid is already over $4,000.00 !!!!!!!!!!
Oh My God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (link)

Translation: I know these are really business strikes, but since I told you to look at the pictures, I won't be taking them back.

Added: I can't believe these people are bidding thousands on something they obviously don't know anything about. I don't understand that.
Edited to add: that's on the second page of his feedback

I sent the email below to the seller - I would encourage others to contact the seller about both of his "proof sets" - perhaps we can at least discourage him:
"Dear seller,
You have said this is a Proof set but from the images, the coins appear to be business strikes and not proofs. You also say they grade "MS63 or better". Did you mean "Proof 63 or better" and are you guaranteeing these coins are proof?
Thanks."
Read the whole description carefully.
All coins MS63 or better.
DO NOT BID WITHOUT LOOKING AT THE PICTURES FIRST!!!
He makes sure to use colors so you can hardly even read the description.
This is one deceitful seller and knows it. I would place him/her in the POS bin.
Irregardless of what the seller says in the body of his auction, the title clearly states "Proof."
You can bet, one of these days, ebay is going to be held accountable for contributing to fraud by not having reasonable safeguards to combat it.

That't because we are not really pirates. But we do come up with some good loot.
(yes the spelling error, one of many, is there too).
You know when you are being robbed by a pirate, so I guess they are not one.
He is also selling a PCGS blue box. How many people do you know that are ignorant of coin values AND have a PCGS blue box?

<< <i>I'm gonna get flamed for this, but it's about time somebody sued the pants off of ebay to require some accountability for fraud. This seller has over 98% feedback which demonstrates that ebay is seriously unable to address the many instances of fraud going on with their site.

Been tried more than once. Ebay has not lost a case (as far as I know).

Here is another 1936 scam: A set of coins "commemorating" the coins of 1936. Note the seller calls it a 1936 Proof Set. Maybe he can get $2,000 for it!!!!
Link to EBay auction currently at $76.00: LINK HERE
I can think of a dozen reasons not to have high capacity magazines, but it's the reasons I haven't thought about that I need them.
It says "Proof Set" right on the plastic holder. It must be a proof set.

It never ceases to amaze me that people wuld spend that kind of $$$ on proof sets over e-bay, but PT Barnum said it best!

And did you notice on the other one- not only does the cent have a mint mark, but the quarter has one too- and on the obverse (instead of the reverse like real 1936D and 1936S quarters!)
Maybe another buying the plastic not the coin
Some naive buyer is going to get slammed!!

I wish I knew when the reserve was met. I think that would go along way toward showing intent.
I attempted to sell an old laptop on the bay..........it had Win95 on it and I listed as such. I said the unit didnt come with the Operating system disks or licence. My listing got cancelled on day 5 of a 7 day auction.
they selectively police....randomly
they police when notified and its glaringly obvious. In this case if they are notified they would probably ignore it as they are not coin experts.

You go out and try to be a nice guy, and they think you are trying to screw them!

What should we altruistic and prudential numismatists do in order to deter such antics by,...BOTTOM LINE,...A$$hole vendors such as the one of question? Any solutions?...
Now that's the best one yet! LMFAO...
It'll be a definate TREAT if someone tops it...I'm dyin' over here

I just hope that if thisisnotaproofset wins and backs out of the deal, the next lower bidder doesn't get suckered into buying as a second chance offer.
That's the NUMBSKULL, and I use the term loosely, that I emailed who's failed, thus far, to retract his/her bid. So, if the NUMBSKULL FITS, WEAR IT!...
Looking for PCGS AU58 Washington's, 32-63.
There is no excuse here though.
It is obvious that these bidders can't even tell the difference between a proof and business strike.

Let's see, an eBay ID of "thisisnotaproofset" from a bidder who just registered. HMM...think about that for a minute. I don't think it's a numbskull.
