Hey! Ugly coins need love too!
The coin is not artificially toned. Pulled if from a batch of proof sets that came in today, still sealed in the mint celo. The quarter and dime were also toned, but even uglier than the half.

cause the rev isnt toned exactly like the obverse for one.
two , the colors blend well.
just my feeling. i could be wrong but, hey, wouldnt be the first time, surely wont be the last.
