Don't find these very often: 1855 1/2 cent RED

I'm still playing with my camera, and sharing some of the pics while I do it. There are a few carbon spots, but they do not detract from the beauty of the coin.

Very nice. Like you said, don't find these very often. The carbon spots aren't at all a distraction to me.

It looks like it's in a PCGS slab. What the grade?

I had a 1855 1/2 PCGS MS64RD a couple of years ago. Sold it because someone had scratch initials inside the " O " of the United States Of America. I was not pleased PCGS would grade a coin like this. image

    Very nice 1855 Large Cent!!!!

If you had an 1853 Half Cent, I might swap you the 55 1/2 cent so I could match it with my type large cent:

As you know I'm no fan of toning spots, but I believe your right about it not detracting. The eye appeal on the rest of that coin far out weighs the spots.Nice coin!!!

    Sweeeet! image

Only time I ever see stuff like that is on the bourse floor at FUN, or similar shows.

    The first hour is like,

"Ohmygosh- did you see THAT?...AND THAT?...and THAT? WOW!"

The last hour, when your feet are really talkin' to you and your vision is blurry, is like,

"Oh, ho hum. Another full red Mint State half cent. Lah di dah." image
