Greetings!
Greetings all,
First I'd like to say I am very glad to be here. After a long time away from collecting I am now getting back into the swing of things. I consider myself a novice at best and by being part of this forum I hope to learn much more. My collection is very small and with the death of my mother last year I was left with her small collection of coins. My reason for collecting is out of pure fun and satisfaction. Since a small boy I would hold on to any coin that interested me. I have both U.S. coins and world coins in my collection and enjoy them all. I have been reading the forum long before I got my password to log on. I found the thread about Franklins interesting and they are my favorite half dollar. It would be interesting to see just how popular they become in the future. Thanks and I hope to learn a lot from this forum!

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

Cool, that`s a near sure sign that your hooked into coin collecting. As I tell anyone new to coin collecting, collect what your most excited about and take it from there. That way you`ll usually get what you like and enjoy the " fun factor " which is what this hobby is really about. That being having fun and enjoying what your doing.
