Superior Auctions
Anyone buy coins from Superior? I'm interest in a few pieces in their sale today.
Are their images on eBay representative of what their material looks like?
Any hassles?
Thanks,
Dave

In my opinion their images are about like most other auction houses in terms of being decent representions of the lots. They are certainly not intentionally deceptive if that is your concern.
I'd say the lot descriptions can be a bit on the optimistic side, and I would take any 'condition census' or 'finest known' type comment with a grain of salt - but that is also true of the other auction houses.
I've never personally had any unusual hassles or difficulties with them in any way; to the contrary, I have found them to be very helpful and willing to offer a more personalized service than I would have expected.
Overall I'd say they are a bit above average.
I have never won a lot from them because they always have their auctions in front of major shows, and IMO, nice material goes from very high to absurd levels.

In all fairness to Superior, half those negs are from one buyer. Also, would you trust the opinions of folks who are dumb enough to bid via Ebay and pay an extra 5% commission?
I've bought from them a few times, no problems. After a bad experience with B&M, I won't bid on ANY auction house's raw coin if I haven't seen it myself.
only 15% buyer's fee there 20% at ebay
