Let's Update the **Registry** of NGC Peace dollar sample slabs

In this thread we had a registry of NGC peace and Morgan dollar sample slabs with the 199999-000 serial numers. Since that thread, we have found out that they are actually two different color or labels with this type of sample and at least a few duplicate numbers suggestion at least two runs of samples made per slab label color. Instead of adding to that thread I would like to start fresh and make two seperate lists one for the green label and one for the brown label type.

If you have any samples like this pm or post here with the serial #, date and mintmark of the coin. I hope in the future to post this registry of sorts on my website under the NGC section as we try to track down these elusive slabs. Thanks!

You did a great job, but we can't put two different slab labels in one registry. Trying to post a new list on a post already 6 pages long is to hard. I am not trying to relieve you, but need your help making it the best registry with the right info.

It's frustrating. Even with pictures posted here I still can't see the difference between these two varieties. ould someone be willing to have me send my NGC 2 to them so they can see which color it is and then buy me an example of the other one and send them back? (labeling them so I'll know which is which.)

Do you have access to a scanner? Just take the slab to someone else in your town, a family member or coworker and they will be able to say if the label is green or brown. I don't mind helping either.

conder101: There is a definite difference in coloration between the two sets of inserts.

kiefer: I suggest that you cut and past the old single registry list below the new registry split list (based on the two inserts) so we have a handy reference in shifting from the old list to the new ones. I guess I have to pull the old ones out and re-photo them.

I am working on a monster deal to acquire two more of them. Anytime there are two of them floating around in one collection is a monster hoard!image
