Went to a local dealer today looking for proof sets, picked a couple and asked if he had any sealed ones. He looks in the desk and brings out 30 of them. Says I can have them for greysheet ask, I bought them. Here is what they had...

    Claus, what is really rare is getting a run with no spotted dogs! They are still out there, but they really are getting harder and harder to find. I'm going out in a little while and buying my lotto ticket!

    Two things to note. First, they aren't rare. No coin that had a production somewhere in the neigborhood of 200,000 could ever be considered rare. Second, none of us ever posts about the hundreds and hundreds of sets we've purchased that contain nothing but junk. image

    Edited to add: When one does find them, it's not unusual to find clusters. Makes logical sense if the batch is original and ordered from the mint at the same time. Although only somebody who REALLY SUCKS finds 30 at once.

    We have to make sure that we credit the guy (Russ) who put us onto this AH Kennedy. If he didn't make it such a part of this forum most of us wouldn't have had a clue about this coin, including me. Kudos to Russ!
