Minimum acceptable grade for a DMPL Morgan in terms of eye appeal?

In your opinion, at what grade would the dings and chatter ruin a DMPL Morgan?

I would say 65. I was looking to buy yesterday and I saw a number of 64's and I believe 63's as well. The chatter was extra annoying on these DMPLs compared to non-PL coins. I don't usually go below 65,though, across the board.

Everyone has there own tolerance level, but if you're patient, you can find really PQ 64's that have GREAT eye appeal. Patient being the key word there.
With that said, I recently sold a ms/62 dmpl, that looked like a 64, but with the tiniest hairline/scratch in the lower right obv. field. For me, that was a ton of coin for the buck. The buyer was ecstatic when he received the coin. The mark wasn't large enough to no grade the coin, but it had to be taken into account for the assigned grade.

I have one now that my local dealer assures me will grade no higher than AU55. It is still DMPL and very attractive to my eye.

I've handed one on MS-64. I've never seen one below that level which was not as ugly as sin. Every mark shows on those mirror surfaces!

As BigD5 said, there are some PQ DMPL64's out there that have quite a bit of eye appeal. However, they are pretty hard to come by, and you almost have to find them by accident. Some of the CC pieces in 64 with cameo devices can be very impressive looking. But, I can't say I have ever seen a truly attractive DMPL63, or at least attractive enough to want to own.

The MS63DMPL's that I bought from jbsteven suit me just fine. They fit right in with all my other 63's and 64's.image

For me 64 is about the break level, some nicer 64's would be okay, and others would not.

In fact, I have noticed that on some specific dates, a 62/ 63 - DMPL will not bring the same as a standard MS-62/63 because of the negitive eye-appeal!
