FUN Show Hotel Question

I'm thinking of going to the FUN show in January. Where is a good place to stay that is close to where the show is at?

Do you need an extra long bed?

Not really. I've got use to having my feet hang off the end of the bed.

Tootawl, I went last year and found a hotel on the FUN website. If you register at one of those two, follow their instructions you will get a discount on your room. I elected to stay at the cheaper of the two. It was ok nothing special and took less than 10 minutes to walk to it. The nice hotel is next to the one I stayed in and on the other side is the convention center. I believe I paid $50 a night and the other hotel was $130 or there about. It will cost you $50 to get from the airport to either hotel, flat fee.

There is no doubt the more expensive hotel is much nicer but if you don't mind being cheap you can save some dough.

I got a 5-Star hotel a short drive from the show for $75/night on priceline. Others got rooms for $30-50 on priceline.

there are literally 80,000 hotel rooms within 15 minutes of the conversion center and that time of the year is low season.
try this site - the prices are good!
look for hotels with addresses on jamacian court or international drive. the c.c. is so large i find that walking from any hotel other than the ones immediately next door is too far. the c.c. is in the 9800 block of international drive so look for something close to that. plenty of rooms from low to hi end are available.

To get the best deal use Hot Wire about 10 days before the show and select hotels near convention center. Last year I stayed at the Sheraton Resort within walking distance at $45 a night.

yes , there are tons of rooms available for FUN show as mentioned in other posts . it is low season , and really depends if you are driving or walking to the convention center . the three closest are Peabody , across the street , tall highrise, elegant and expensive , Rosen Plaza or something , nice place , about two blocks away on same side as convention center , and quality inn , typical for the chain , about 4 blocks away , and cheapest of the three , but probably less secure of the three (my opinion) cause so many dealers stay there ( there are five or six separate buildings )and the bad dudes may have figured this out . As in many major shows , avoid walking alone , dont have your badge on til you get to the hall or back to your room , and use other sensible precautions . these are all walking distance located on International drive . As one gets further away from the convention center on I - Drive , there are a bunch of hotels on the avenue , which have a trolley stop near , and for about $ 1 , you can take a ride and get off in front of the hall . The trolley gets busy at times , and you may have to wait for an empty one .
For those who are staying further out , and driving , the daily parking at the center is about $8-10 dollars . you can walk around the convention center , or take a shuttle . For those who may have dealer or early bird badges , you may save five minutes by going into the back doors of the dock by the show halls.

IMHO. There are no 5 star hotels in Orlando. The best is right across the street from the show... the Peabody. Not cheap or really expensive. I stay there. There are two Rosens within walking distance. The cheaper/ less nice is only a one block walk and alot of folks stay here. There are thousands of cheaper rooms within driving distance.
