Thus far, it's pissing me off...

A short while ago, here at the forum, there was somewhat of a debate regarding weather to decline or accept, as a seller, paypal via credit card. Welp, I did a experiment with my present auctions; whereas, I decided to ACCEPT paypal via credit card. "Low and behold," and much to my dismay, despite what my brother-in-law was extremely emphatic about, I've come to experience that he was sooooooo correct about NOT accepting CC's at ebay, as I expressed in the previous debate with forum members: e.g. I sold a DBL. Eagle for $500.00 and the farkin' charges were approx. 28 or more dollars. That's what I get for not adhereing to my B in law's suggestion, and my common sense, which of course is limited. mama always said, "Tom, you'll learn the hard way!"... image

the %3 there and the fees on ebay all start to add up don't they!?

Paypal permits you to downgrade your account one time (I think) which I did quite some time ago.

    russ,
isn't there a "trick" to that also??? I vaguely recall the details about having to do something 2 times.

Also correct. You request the downgrade and a couple days later an eMail arrives telling you all the reasons it's a bad idea, then you have to go and request it again. After a couple more days, it's downgraded.

Here is how "EBay/Paypal" can get paid 4 times on one auction:

    1. Listing fee paid by seller
    2. Final Value fee by seller
    3. PayPal credit card acceptance fee paid by seller
    4. PayPal fraud insurance fee paid by buyer

Welp, I guess it's time to bail out, of course, after my present auctions end...Son of a B****, Mother F*****. I'll never take advice from the volume vendors again. This is where my sig line comes back and bites me in the A$$....image

    Razor,

It also depends on what you sell I think. An extra 3% on generic common date low-margin material is painful unless one can buy such coins at true wholesale levels. I've seen people accept PayPal most of the time but not accept on certain auctions also.
