Trust the mint and the Virginia politicians to come up with yet another really ugly design image

Well...I guess the speculation is over on where that series is headed. We already have a "full finger" designation.

    Enjoy your coins.....

Maybe they will have a FH (full hand) designation image

I wonder how long it takes to chop a tree down with those little axes.

The one on the right is not an axe....it's the designer's pipe.

<< <i>Americans used to change designs every seven or eight years in the last century. Now we do it every 25 years or so," Holsman Fore told CNN/Money earlier this year. "We've gotten out of the habit." >>

Huh? 25 Years.....hmmmm Lincoln same as 1909/1959......Jefferson......same as 1938.......Roosie same as 1946, okay I'll give her the quarter.....Kennedy same as 1964...

And so yeah the dollar has changed 3 times in the past 25 years but that's only because it's failed so many times.

<< <i>"The United States is in a renaissance in coin design," according to Mint Director Henrietta Holsman Fore, >>

Somebody wake this lady up, please. Renaissance?
Oh, yeah I do like the new nickels -- but what's going to be the new designations -- FF -- Full Fingernails and SS (Full Stars & Stripes)? imageimage

Hey, weren't they suppose to change Jefferson as well?

Anyone know if that's going to happen?

I like the first one but don't think the second will work on a coin the size of a nickel.

I don't know, I kind of like them. It's a great way to commemorate one of the greatest quests of discovery in our nation's history. A new profile of Jeff would be nice too though.

I was never a big fan of the first design but they've done as well with the concept
as could probably be done. The second one is outstanding. It may become my favorite
    US coin design.

Why not just a big 'ol map of Virginia. It's the Virginia nickel isn't it?

Ok here is how this worked (just a joke but probally not far from the truth.

    1. Awsome designs... lets throw them all out
    2. free advertising for Virgina... have to keep Monticello on the back not to make the Virgineans mad after all they own the right to the nickel
    3. let add an old fashion golf club to it so it makes it look geniune.
    4. lets embrace the worst possible 2 designs and put them on the back of new coins
    5. let showcase our artists creativity

Ok there's 5 reasons I put down in less then 1 minute why this is another sucky attempt buy our government to change coinage. Why can't it go back to the old days of St gaudens, Morgan, Barber, And others.

NNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOwwwwwwwwww we get stuck with another suckash coin design. I believe the older designs showcased our strength as a country. Now we are showcasing our lazy ways.

Wow this should get some people going.

At least it looks like the mint told the CACC to take a flying leap. That second design was rejected by the CACC twice. They wanted a full side view of the boat that didn't have the people and was smaller. Believe me the design shown is better.
