Purchased this back in 92 and just got a BB from PCGS for being cleaned- what should be my next step for this coin. Thanks in advance.

Send it to ANACS. They will net grade it for you, (assuming it's the real deal). That way you'll have it authenticated.

  • If you are going to sell it then it should be authenticated. If you aren't selling an album or airtite is good enough, tho I would always wonder if it real.

Couldn't have said it better than Russ. Send it to ANACS, the ONLY wise choice.

I can think of a dozen reasons not to have high capacity magazines, but it's the reasons I haven't thought about that I need them.

SCREW ANACS and their "net" grading.
Send it to NCS! No net grading and a Very attractive slab!

Thanks for the advice. Its really a shame that anyone would clean such a sharply struck beauty.

I have to agree with John on this one. I hate net graded coins. The grade is the grade, if cleaned then its a cleaned coin.

I dont like taking a grade of a coin down to a net grade in order to try to assign a value to it. Coins that are cleaned should be graded as is, but noted as such.

I agree with sending the coin to NCS. I hate net-grading as well. Don't even have a grade assigned to the coin, just have it annotated it as cleaned and let the market determine its value.

    I'd vote for ANACS.

I'm not a big fan of NCS. If you send a coin to NCG, and they body bag it, which CAN happen for no good reason, sending it on to NCS rewards them from bad behavior. image

I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

As long as ANACS only authenticates it and annotates the problem I would agree with you, Bill. BUT...I am dead against net grading.

    Cheers,
