Anyone collect Slab errors??

Hello All,

Does anyone out there collect slab errors, in other words slabs that are incorrect date or denomination or other misprints? I was going through my stuff and discovered a couple. Any value or collectability in them? I know people will collect just about anything!!

Thanks, Chrisimage

  • I don't collect them per-se, but I do find them interesting and have considered bidding on a couple that were on the bay. How about a listing of your "errors"?

  • Several of us do. The value depends on the severity of the error and how common it might happen. A slab with three different errors is worth alot more than one with a wrong mintmark.

    I just noticed these today:

NGC 1944 50c MS 64: It is a Washington Quarter!
PCI 1976s Type II PR67 Deep Cameo: It is a Type I

That's it. I was going to list the NGC coin today because I have multiples. That's when I noticed the mistakes. Both are actually nice coins. If you are interested PM me.

    Chris
