eBay Question: Refund final value fee for Returned items?

BaleyBaley Posts: 22,663 ✭✭✭✭✭
It's eBay. I'm the seller. High bidder pays, I ship item. They return item. I refund money.

Question: How do I get my Final Value Fee back from eBay?

I went to their menu and can only find the non-paying bidder forms, but they allude to a refund for a returned item but don't tell you how to get it.

Please let me in on the secret.

  • You don't get your money back from ebay.

    Yes you do.
Go to EBay's Help screen and enter "returned item" in the search box. Click on #2 (final value fee credits). It will take you through the process. It actually looks like you're filing a non-paying bidder form, but when you get to the reason for credit, there will be a choice for Returned item, or something similar.

    Baley,

Just use the non paying bidder form and select the option that says "High bidder paid for item and returned it. You issued a refind to bidder."

    thank you Barry and Russ.

OK, did that, except when clicked the final button, got this:

    Invalid credit request amount!
    1. Amount must be positive in value.
    2. Amount you entered must not exceed applicable credit amount for this item.
Please go back and enter proper amount value.

I had entered the final bid amount.

When I try to go back the page has expired and when I try again it says I already submited for this item.

You need to enter the fees you paid (or at least final value fee)... however much you want credited back (they aren't paying for the item image)

the question I answered for that box was "how much did the buyer pay you?"
