  hard to tell what's up when hager is auctioning something. could very well be a legit weak 'D' but also appears to be a salt water unc. that the piece is resonably well struck throughout excepting the mm makes it desirable IF it's what he claims.

  For a "weak D", the reverse strike appears pretty strong. And I agree that the surfaces do not look quite right in the picture. Anyone who needs an example of why to avoid raw gold, especially on ebay, should be encouraged to view this one!

  The strike looks too good for Dahlonega. Also, he quotes a price of $2175, that is the AU price. For a piece actually in MS-62, it would be over $10,000. He knows exactly what he is doing. Scamming.
